Last job I had was loading/unloading trucks at a hardware store. Decent pay, short shifts, and little to none social interaction.

I had the same problem Tyler, you just need to suck it up and put yourself out there. I, like yourself am really shy too so i know how hard it is. A good thing to say is: "Hi, i'm looking for a job and would like to work here, can i hand my resume (or w/e you might call it) in? Also if you do end up handing your resume in, the manager may be the one you hand it to. (it has happened to me in the past) In that case, introduce yourself (they like to see confident people) They may even give you an interview on the spot then. So you need to be prepared for that.

Practice and put yourself in social events or whatever. Also, I'm sure you can find some good tips on ehow. Remember that it isn't the end of the world, the first time you seek a job and have to talk to people or get called into an interview you'll be nervous without a doubt. The more you do it, the more it will become comfortable for you. You will lose a few battles along the way but if you keep at it you will win the war.(obtain a job) If you try and give up, then you have failed. >.<

Just make yourself promiment and remember that most people are not going to know you for too long, unless you stay at that job for years. :)
