How old is too old to live with your parents?

Just wondering what some people think.

I plan on living with them until maybe 24 or 25 until I'm finished with my degree.
If they want to move then I'll be on my own obviously because I'll need to stay to finish school.

I think unless you have a really bad family situation you should piggyback off your parents as long as you can.

I think a few years after you finish university is when you really need to work on moving out and being independent. As you get older you really need to help out more though.

I want to move out as soon as possible myself. The university that I want to go to is a long way away from where they'll be living.

Once you get past your 30's

As long as you are not being a burden on your parents, I don't see why you can't live with them. I have buddies that still reside with their family because of the tough economy, yet they still help out by paying bills and doing chores.

After a few years after finishing college, you should be set to live on your own. If you can't due to financial issues/family emergencies then by all means, don't. Stay with your parents as long as they need you or as long as you need them.

Exactly. Society has a sort of fixed mentality that it's wrong to live with your parents past a certain age. Sure it can hinder your social life (bringing friends over and such) but it's far more important to be financially stable and confident in your ability to be totally independent than it is to move out as quickly as possible and risk ending up in debt due to missed rental/bill payments or drowning in college loans.

This. I plan on living with my parents for about 2 years after I finish college (while working full time) so that I can pay off all my loans. I also plan to never use a credit card so I won't ever get into more debts. Seriously, I don't understand why people think they need a nice car NOW or a big house NOW. Wait until you have enough money dammit. That's the reason we keep getting into recessions!

Totally agree, however countries try to induce spending and run huge spending programs to get out of the recession only to end up with a huge amount of debt that they willl have to pay off.

Personally, I don't want to be here anymore and I'm 13. Even though it's a ways away, I think I'll still want to be independent as soon as possible. I still love my parents though. A lot.

At the age of 7, you are shipped away from your parents to a corporation called WILDKELDEO. If you have fighting talent, then you are to be trained to become a skilled ninja. If you don't have fighting talent, then you are brainwashed into not remembering the day you were shipped and sent to live your parents until you are at the age of 65.

I'm pretty sure by the time you're 65 your parents will be dead or on the verge of death.

Using a credit card is ok as long as you make sure that you don't spend more than you can pay off when the bill comes.
