ctf

In this thread i am gonna talk about the new team event ctf.
Some things i think that are wrong with ctf atm include
  • Room ( the actual amount space instead the base itself is quite miniscule)
  • Bigger teams (to encourage more people to play, for more enjoyment)
  • Team leaders ( one random person per round gets asigned the role of being the leader, leads the team.)
  • Health packs ( more of these placed in bases and around map)
other than that i think everything else is perfect i think it should be hosted more often, as this is probably my favourite event in era and i'm sure many other peoples.

I actually really like it how it is right now.

I think that the room is alright for it's current size.
Bigger teams would make it take longer, but the hosting staff member can choose how big or small he or she wants teams.
I doubt the leader thing will work, no one will actually listen or look at pms.
Health packs are fine in my opinion.
If the event is hosted more often, I think too many ecs will be given out. It really is a great event, and I love it how it is.

longer games are better
the leader thing was a failed idea
more packs are needed in bases there are only a few..
its only 1/3 of an ec dont worry about inflation.

I did the one with 150 people and that was absolutely crazy and awful. It was very tough and there was too much spam. It took 45 minutes to score our first point. But with 50 people it was perfect, it wasn't too tough and it wasn't too easy.

The room isn't too bad however I would like to have maybe an upper entrance so we can come in from a different area instead of being spammed at one area.

What would a team leader do? Nothing. No one reads Pm's in the first place and with 25-50 people on one team, it's too hard to even get a group of three people. You couldn't give them powers because it will be abuse. I had John on my team and no one listened to him so I don't see why someone would listen to a leader.

There is health packs placed throughout all the map. So there isn't any need to get more. You just have to look around for them. That's how I get the flag. I get the flag and then I run to the health packs. It's a good tactic.

I like how it is right now. I participated in it 6 times yesterday so I think that it is a good event all around. 8/10 event.

Is this an admin hosted event or is it like classic CTF?

I agree with #2 and #4. Also fix the bug I told you about, John

I already placed hidden healing spots in the map a few days ago, as well as played in almost all the CTF hosted.

I played with the one I announced (for 200), it sure was quite fun, I did gang message the team to go and meetup in a certain spot, but they spam the gang chat by saying 'Stop spamming' which is idiotic. The only way I got to have around 15 players following me is to go in the flag room and shout it out. (well, I have no idea why there is like 70 people in the flag room while 8 would be enough)

For the team leader, that would fail so bad, I'd rather make the players follow their own leader, as I played with my team etc.

The levels are big enough, there are already two ways to the flag room and I re-edit the blue team's flag base yesterday to make it fit the red team's.
I also added a time limit of 3 minutes for each med-pack to respawn.

Honestly I think it's perfectly fine as is, what makes me angry is when your team doesn't know how teamwork is created.
For example : 3 people are in the same team, attack the base flag. So one of them is highly injured (1-9hp), what the players do is hide on the back of the player and use him as a shield. Which is stupid since they're all causing the same damage, letting one die too early leads the to their damage - damage/3 which would be low... If the team is smart enough to realize that, they should've shielded the low hp player, so the damage rate and the survival length stays the same.

If you want it hosted more often, I can increase the conversion rate of EC Piece > to EC to allow for more fun without harming the EC gain ^^

GOOD CA$H 06-06-2013 11:45 AM

Do it!
