Street Fighting
The fists literally the most pointless weapon in the game. You start with them, but you also start with a much better melee. They deal the least possible damage... Well, I have an idea. Instead of dealing health damage, implement a second "health" bar, a blue colored one. This, my fellow graalians, would be the stamina bar. Now, me go into detail about reworking the fists. Instead of the normal second stick fire button, there could be 3 buttons: punch, kick, and headbutt. Punching deals roughly 10 out of 50 stamina damage. However, it takes away 5 of your own stamina. Kicking deals around 15 and you lose 10 stamina. Headbutting deals a lot of stamina damage, around 20. But you lose 15 stamina, and upon a successful you damage yourself for another 5. All but the headbutt cannot bring yourself down to 0 stamina, only going as far as 15, so you should plan you moves carefully and not headbutt too much! The logic behind having 3 different moves is to make it less of a spam-fest and actually incorporate the necessity of strategy. Upon losing all your stamina, you get K.O.'d for 10(yes, 10. You're freaking knocked out, you shouldn't be able to get up a few seconds right after getting the living daylights beat out of ya!) seconds, and you "drop"(not from your inventory!) some gralats and a occasionally a nice stack of grenades or healing items. On rare occasions, quite a bit of gralats could be dropped, around the 500-750 range. This would give people the incentive to actually make use of this system. Every second when knocked out, you bleed for 2 damage. Now here is a sorta "optional" part of the suggestion: rework the starter knife into a new, fully gani'd switchblade. It could deal the usual 2 damage, but it could also deal 10 stamina damage and take away 5 per swing like a punch, as well as coming with the kicking and headbutting, so you could use it to K.O. someone with the intention of them taking bleedout damage. Also, upon being K.O.'d by a knife, you take 3 damage/second rather than the usual 2.
Oh, and of course stamina would slowly regenerate, maybe like one or two points per second.
And maybe there could be an area implemented where players are restricted to fists, so they can safely and consistently duke it out without having to worry about getting gunned down :)
