Brazilian referee gets decapitated by fans after he stabs and kills a player
This is old, but still pretty creepy.
Spoiler
When they're not shouting G-O-O-O-O-A-L!!!! in Brazil, they're decapitating their murderous referees. An amateur soccer game in Sao Luis, Maranhao, Brazil, on June 30 turned deadly after a young referee gave a player the red card.
20-year-old Otavio da Silva (pictured above) expelled player Josenir Abreu, 30, from the game last weekend, but the two got into a fist fight over the call. Things only got worse from there. Silva took out a knife and stabbed Abreu, who then died on the way to the hospital. Now, just when you think things couldn't get any worse, they did. A lot worse.
Spectators at the soccer game, including Abreu's family and friends, rushed the field. The angry mob beat and tortured the referee, until they heard of Abreu's death upon arriving at the hospital. That's when they stoned him to death, lynched and quartered his body. (Oh, but it gets even worse!) The mob then decapitated Silva and put his head on a stake in the middle of the soccer field for all to see.
Police have been using videos from spectator cell phones at the game to piece together the events and find those responsible for the brutal beheading. So far one man, 27-year-old Luis Sousa Moraes, has been arrested and two other suspects are being questioned. One video even shows the medical team trying to piece back Silva's body, including his head. The extremely graphic video can be seen here, but we DO NOT advise that you click through.
This takes soccer fanaticism to a whole new level. We'll be watching the World Cup -- taking place next year in Brazil -- from the couch.
If you want to read about it, check the link. There's also a video of the referee being fixed by doctors, I don't recommend you to watch it, nor does the site but that's just pretty crazy.
Why does this article go from saying the referee threw a red flag to the stabbing immediately? There are absolutely no details explaining how a referee went from flagging the player to stabbing him. I think those are pretty damn important details.

Yea, they got in a fist fight according to that. On the news I read he cussed another player and then attacked the referee after getting the red card. But I still dunno why he had to stab him at all, not like noone would defend the referee.
But in all honesty, I want to see the video of the fans rushing the field, no matter how ****'d up it is.

I guess it depends on how bad the player was attacking the referee. If it was bad enough, it could be pretty reasonable to stab the player in self defense.

They waited until they got notified about what happened with the soccer-player, until that they somewhat of lynched him first.
Why did they even let the ref carry a knife onto the field in the first place?
