Sparring is dead.
 

Let's face it, sparring has become quite an embarassment to the classic community. Ever since (everyone)'s complete b.s. win in the July 2013 GST it seems as if everyone (no pun intended) has completely given up on trying to become the best that they can possibly be at guild sparring considering the fact that no matter how good they get it is impossible to beat anyone that decides to take advantage of their horrid wi-fi and 3rd world country delay. I have not been active in graal recently. The game is dying. The top 10 on the leaderboards has only been delaying french kids. The only person that actually has skill who still rocks the #1 spot is Comyt. (I'm not even going to mention the PC side of things; that's for another time.)

the fact that you even judge people based on their position on a leaderboard shows that you probably care a little too much about their reputation on an online game
do you seriously think any normal and stable person ever reaches the #1 leaderboard spot and stops to think, "HAHAHA, YES, I AM #1 ON THE LEADERBOARD AND NOW EVERYONE ON GRAAL WILL RESPECT ME AS THE BEST"

some people play to have fun and win, others desperately strive to prove they're "the best" through aggressive chatting and gossip/drama
it's not hard to prove you're very good at some part of this game, and that's why you never see the best sparrers whining like this

I can't think of a single game that can keep leaderboards "legit."

PC leaderboard has been fine for months, been #1 on that board 90% of the past year while actively sparring
when it's not me it's either David, Male, or Dante (none of whom do anything unnatural to get there)

they complain about the iDevice leaderboard because it's constantly dominated by Sarah (lives in France, wall spars because she wants to, has slight delay), ABOOD (lives far away from the US, has a high ping), Yui (lives in Japan thus has a high ping, uses alts most of the time she reaches #1), and Edin (Australian, lags, one of the few boosters that still exist on this game)

iDevice players have never been able to adapt and spar against iDevice delayers, thus the leaderboard is theirs to own
personally not good at all against Yui, Sarah, and other delayers, but you won't see me crying over it

again, it's as if you guys give the leaderboard some power to determine who the skilled iDevice sparrers are
that'd be people like Junior, Blood, Vlad, etc.

keep acting racist and hostile towards people like ABOOD and it'll only motivate them to care less about their lag and wall against you harder

As for "lag and walling" being used to acquire high positions on the leaderboard, yeah it happens. You can't blame people that live in foreign countries for lag, it isn't their fault. However, for many of the the non-laggy sparrers, it can be annoying (personally I don't care, as long as they don't purposely abuse it). I only have a problem with two of the laggy sparrers, and those people are Abood and Sarah. Both are stuck-up and snotty, even though the majority of their wins are from constant warping. Also, both constantly go for 'cheap shots' in spar (Hit if other person is talking, afk, etc.). They don't irritate me because their lag, just their personalities.

Anyways, sparring is dead. If you think so, you should delete graal off your device and stop using this forum.

post on your main account and reveal yourself as an unaccomplished and medicore sparrer and then that opinion will make complete sense

it's a game
people do it to have fun, the ones who don't have their own problems

you guys can keep whining and trying to talk sparring into the ground and the sparrers who do it for fun and to win will do that
only the bad sparrers try to turn it into a sport of chatting and making these weird claims

it's so awkward to me that people are complaining about the spar community right now, when years ago it was plagued by pause-boosting on the same connection at obscure spars like Sardon's and Angel Clan, transferring accounts, and generally just picking off bad sparrers

I'm not going to lie. I didn't read a single post on this thread. Sparring is just broken in general. I stopped after smooth sparring turned into lag and PC central.

To be honest, everyone could care less about your opinion based on your name "the troll". Anyone who has troll in their name is probably age 14 or less trying to do stupid things to impress their peers, you calling sparring stupid isn't that impressive, but nice attempt, man.

The only reason people get mad at sparring is because it takes time to actually get good at. usually if you look at the consistent #1 sparrers you'll notice they've been playing for a while, it's no coincidence.
