Gifting - Rofos & Dusty pls

Hello,

Have you ever wanted to wish a friend Happy Birthday with a gift of gralats? Perhaps give them some money to buy a new head?

Well, that's the concept of this idea.

There will be a shop which sells Gralat Chests containing amounts such as : 100, 500, 750, 1000, 2000, 5000, 10000. These gift chests would cost the gralat amount they contain, with an extra ten percent. So a 1,000 gralat gift chest can be bought for 1,100.

Once bought, they can be placed in your house in order to gift them. In the furniture options interface, the house owner can toggle the chests as "able to collect" or not. If the latter option is toggled, upon grabbing the chest, said player will receive the gralat sum and the chest will disappear.

Pros:

-Allows gifting of gralats.
-Presented in a way that makes it difficult to scam.
-The 10% increase means only players "serious" about buying a gift will buy one.
-Not overly hard to do (in what I see).

Cons:
-Can be manipulated to induce scamming, unlikely but possible.
-10% increase may upset players, although I feel it is important.

It can't be unlikely, I don't see how it wont be a scam magnet. Can players not just lie to one another in order to get a gift?

^fixed. Btw this was suggested in another thread just a short time ago. I think its a good idea, but in limited form as in only 2-3 varying amounts to choose from. And there should be more of a charge than just 10% to cut down on scamming and gralat boosting via multi accounts. I.e noob acount B buys gralat chest and places in house then invites main account A in and main account A opens the chest and gets the gralats rinse, recycle, repeat, rich.

What you just said makes no sense? Even if a noob account is transfering money to a main, the money still came from somewhere and 10% of it is being put in a cash sink. So...

On the whole scamming note, this is no different then "Farm for me and you'll get 300 gralats" which already exists in the game. With very new players, you can claim to give them hats in exchange for service. Not an insult to new players but this isn't anything new.

I have said this same thing over and over and over again in numerous posts in numerous threads and yet people don't seem to get it. There is literally no limit to the amount of accounts you can have so you could continually start account after account doing the pyrate bay quest/and or finding and getting all the hidden gralat chests in the game and buy those preset chests and set them in there respective houses for your main account to keep getting. Yes its very time consuming and everyone could do it.

Using that method would open the door for people to get rich faster and cut down on the need for people to buy gralat packs. So they will not let it happen. The company that owns the game wants and needs to make money so they will never introduce something that would help players make a ton of gralats easily.

To summarize there can never be and will never be a way to trade items, have our own shops,or transfer gralats via chests or other means because people will scam and or abuse it and get rich fairly quickly without needing or using gralat packs so the company wouldn't be making money. Don't get me wrong I like the idea it sounds great but it will hardly ever be used for what the original post suggests what it could be used for instead players will use it to boost their own bank.

if you pyrate challenge twice on your noob account then transfer it onto your main youll get all the gralats anyway

I still think this is a terrible idea what so ever. You do realize you can just create a random account, collect all the random chests in graal, get around 400ish gralats, and just gift them to the main? I'm sure I could make around 15k a day.

Way to let the cat out of the bag. They were just about to do it as well!

Good idea, too many flaws

how about gifting furniture instead of cash? They can sell it if they want to, so that way your purpose is served as well. It could appear just like the xmas gifts last year, with a little message that said 'so and so has left a gift at your house.'

The furniture to be gifted could be anything that you have in your own furniture inventory, which would be simple enough to transfer, no?

ufoburan 11-19-2013 07:21 AM

I think that would still have the abuse to get rich flaw. I know a lot of the furniture isn't all that cheap and would take time to save up gralats to buy higher priced stuff like the big couches, but I'm sure it wouldn't take long for ppl to find something decently priced to resell and get rich off of. for example I'm sure they could find something that costs 1k and then gift it so it could be sold for 500 gralats.

I'm not saying it would be a bad idea just that there would still be flaws that would need to be worked out. Like furniture would be changed to have very low resell value so there would be next to no profit to gain from it. Then you run into a lot of complaints from players about not getting much for a furniture item.

Perhaps it could be set up where the original furniture buyer would get more for selling it off then the person who got gifted that same furniture would for selling it. say the original buyer gets 50% return while the person who got gifted only would get like 10-20% (have to basically make it not worth it to resell)
