General Admin Messaging Style

When your having a conversation with an admin and they don't reply to your pm and you are just sat there like
:\

Sometimes staff are busy. Sometimes players like to PM stupid ****, or send PMs in a manner that is annoying and makes staff want to ignore it.

Example: "Hey, can I ask you a question?"

I absolutely do not mind talking or helping players at all. But if they do so in a way that wastes time, especially when I'm busy, it's good way to end up ignored, or if you push it, blocked.

I love if the staff can't keep the mental niveau to respond the most.

hey

crono

hey can i ask you something?

hey crono

ya i ignore that kind of ****. it's a pm, just ask whatever it is you have to ask or shut up. almost as bad as people who walk up to you IN PLAYER and say "i have a question"

Foxmon 11-18-2013 03:15 PM

When a player PM "Can I ask you a question?" I really want to say "You already did."

Jerln 11-18-2013 04:31 PM

I see why people first ask if they can ask. If you're busy doing something and they just barge in with a PM that asks a question, it can seem pushy or interrupting. By asking if they can ask a question they're trying to be respectful. Besides, I don't mind, it's an excuse to write a PM.

Dusty 11-18-2013 04:34 PM

When dealing with admins imo don't be rude, but be straight and to the point. You're already interrupting by asking the question, so it may as well be a question with substance and a point. If the question itself is too involved to be quickly responded to, they'll let you know.

Jerln 11-18-2013 04:37 PM

At least they're in the habit of being polite.
