Guild Chat and PM's
 

Hello, it's been quite a while since I've decided to post a thread on the Classic forums; or on Graalians in general. Redundant, yes I know, however, I would like this idea to be looked into, and taken into consideration.

I've been towering lately, something I don't normally do on a mere whim. This habit has brought about many annoyances, one of the few being the guild chat.
The amount of messages one may receive through the guild chat interface can be quite overwhelming, which is the case for many players in towering guilds. Now see, the problem I have been facing is navigating through clutters of guild chat, and sometimes not even seeing private messages that have been sent to me.

A simple resolution to this seemingly small problem is to make separate icons for both guild chat and private messages. This will make it less frustrating, and more convenient for people like me.

Yes but when you have 100's of spam guild chat messages to go through you usually will just skip through them by tapping very fast, making it very easy to skip messages. One time the head i was wearing got deleted, and I skipped the message I got from the admin stating why because I was skipping through so much guild chat.

I actually hate tapping especially when theres news from an announcment I miss what they say and I have to constantly wait for others to tell me.

Even when flipping through guild chat fast, it's pretty easy to see the yellow and green difference.

There's also a message history button to see any PMs you miss when you skip them.

I asked Jerret about the difficulty of adding a separate button for PMs, and he said it'd be pretty difficult to do.

please add this if possible.

This is why guild chat no longer appears in your PM History and that history was extended from 10 to 50 PMs. If you lose PMs in the midst of guild spam, go to your history, thats what its for.

While were talking about PM's and stuff, could broadcast/event messages be added to PM history as well?

Being from UFO which is a guild that normally has a fairly high GC spam problem I have this issue alot. And it's annoying as hell specially when you miss event notifications.

I have to agree with Craftz here the best solution for seeing if you have missed pm's is to just go check your pm history. I still don't get why they can't put Global notifications(admin messages) in the pm history as well, I'm sure everyone has clicked through them by mistake more than once skipping through bs GC spam.

while we're at it, can we finally get to close pm's and guild messages with a key?
It's annoying as hell to open and close messages on the Facebook client.

In the mean time until if and when they fix this its probably best to just block people who are doing the unwanted spam. I really wish more people understood the block button is there for a reason and instead of bitching about peoples spam they would just block them.
