Osu!

Osu! is a Rhythm based game, mainly popular in the East. It's games like Tap Tap Revolution, where you play to the rhythm of the song, but it's much more challenging. Osu has variety of songs from the East, mainly Kpop and Jpop, there is some American songs that people have made.

The songs available to play are all made by other users and varies in many difficulties. It's very addicting, trying to improve on a song and conquer many other songs. Plus almost everything is free on the PC version. It's not easy to explain this game, but try checking out some game play.

The Pros

Spoiler

Even though when you start you'll be far from as good as these videos, there is much simpler maps based on star ratings. There is mods to challenge yourself, you can add customization for when you play songs. There is online modes where you can play with other and download other songs people have and try to master those as well.

Download and play Here

DDR clones are prevalent in the Japan region.

They really like that.

This one's actually based off of Elite Beat Agents for DS

Apparently every single game in the music genre is a rip off of DDR.

That's like saying every first person shooter is a ripoff of CoD, every MMO is a ripoff of WoW, or that every platformer is a ripoff of mario.

Osu plays completely different than ddr. Just because it involves completing a task to the beat of music does not mean it is a 'rip off' of ddr.

I will not lie that the interface does seem heavily inspired by ddr, though.

TIL: DDR was the "original" rhythm game and everything else in the genre is a clone.

Why do you keep trying to sound edgy and original? Please stop.

posted about this once, it's a great game to play when you first sit down at your PC or before you play a mouse-intensive game like League or CS:GO, good warm-up

Here are me playing Osu. I'm very nubby and I play way easier songs compared to other players, I just started getting into hard mode songs after days of playing on normal mode. These two are the only song I've gotten an S on Hard Mode.
