Sleep paralysis in my dreams?

Ok, so last night i went to bed at around 12:30am from playing clash of clans, then when I was in bed I played graal and surfed the internet till about 1:30am.
I got to sleep about 2am. I was dreaming, I was in a shopping center and I was shouting at a teacher, while sliding down some large winded stair case. ( I had this teacher yesterday while I was at school and people were shouting at her).

Then the scene changed to, me sleeping in my room from a first person perspective view. I was in my bedroom, sleeping. I was experiencing sleep paralysis in my dream, so I tried to wake up. I did (in my dream) then i was in the same scenario (in my dream) I tried to move my body in my dream and talk, but I couldn't because I was expericening sleep paralysis, I finally woke up again (in my dream) and I was of course in the same situation with experiencing sleep paralysis. I tried to wake up, and did so I went up and went to my bedroom door. But then I suddenly got warped into my bed and was experiencing sleep paralysis in my dream, this continued about 3-4 times I think.

Then I was in sleep paralysis state again (in my dream), I managed to wake up (still in my dream) then I went to get some water, I didn't drink it.

Then eventually I finally actually woke up from the dream. And I looked at the clock, it was 2:40am... I looked around, the dream seemed to last so long, and I was so bored in it, actually that night i read about lucid dreaming, sleep paralysis experiences Ect. Also right after I woke up, I moved around in bed to feel more comfortable. I was glad to have a sense of realization again. It was as though I was in a parallel universe/ different realm.

I could physically feel in this dream. A few days before that (about 2) I had a lucid dream, I could physically feel in that one too.

I hope none of you experience a dream like this, as it is annoying and scary.
But after I woke up from the dream, I didn't feel tired. I must have been having REM in my dream.

Are you getting enough sleep on a daily basis? That could be a cause.

randomuser3954 02-15-2014 03:20 PM

Im getting 7 hours of sleep on school days and about 11 on weekends.

Has this just started happening? And have you seen a doctor about this?

Crono 02-15-2014 03:23 PM

Yep, except I wasn't asleep. Sleep paralysis varies but when it happens to me, my eyes will be open but I have no control over any bit of my body. This happens for many reasons but I find that if I don't eat before I sleep I'm good. Stress and all that good stuff are also factors.

To those who haven't experienced it, imagine your entire body being paralyzed including the movement of your eyes. Your eyes just open for a while and then you fall back asleep a bit later. Sometimes you'll also be dreaming, wake up, and still have the dream running but your eyes are open, while completely paralyzed. It's scary for those who are looking at the door while this happens, it's common to see figures moving towards you as you lay there helpess.

Whatever it is, you're not going to calm yourself down or find the answer you want by Googling. From my experience it only stresses you out by giving diagnosing you with brain tumours and cancers and all kinds of nonsense like that. Whatever it is though, you should see a doctor just to be safe.

Seriously...the brain can be scary sometimes.

randomuser3954 02-15-2014 03:42 PM

The dream I had seemed like hours, it was so ****ing annoying. Imagine being in sleep paralysis for hours.

Corvo 02-15-2014 03:42 PM

I've had a few sleep paralysis as well. It mostly happens when you're trying to lucid dream ,staying up too late, tired etc. I have to admit It's pretty damn scary sometimes.

The mistake from what I've read so far is when you're on a paralysis state you should not force yourself to wake up or to move your body. When you experience sleep paralysis, immediately close your eyes for a few seconds and then you'll get back to sleep. Don't let your eyes open because you might see (most likely from your imagination/dream) some creepy ****.

randomuser3954 02-15-2014 03:46 PM

The dream I had last night was repeating the same scene I was in for about 5 times. I woke up from sleep paralysis in my dream, then that repeated about 5 times. When I woke up in my dream, went to the door, then finally I actually woke up. My dream lasted about 30 mins.

Pretty much sums it up! Seeing figures that are approaching you is very common during sleep paralysis, and it always feels like something/someone is pressing you down over your body.

@Neil, did you attempt to have a lucid dream last night? That may be the cause. Corvo's method works best imo, just close your eyes until you fall asleep again.

randomuser3954 02-15-2014 04:19 PM

yes but my sleep paralysis was actually within my dream

Strange thing is, I didn't experience that even though it's standard. Might have been my sleeping position though.

Not sure about Neil, when I experience sleep paralysis my eyes are open, I'm seeing my actual room. He seems to have dreamt being in sleep paralysis, meaning you're lucid dreaming and no better off I suppose.
