As a fellow TV-only fan, good luck avoiding spoilers.

Just watched the first two episodes of season 4 yesterday. They were good, but the show changed a couple of scenes that were way better in the book.

Open the spoiler only if you have completed the fourth book.
Spoiler
The way they handle the Shae/Tyrion thing in the show has been weird I don't know how they're gonna pull off her final scene.

I don't really like it. What they were doing last season with Arya was confusing too.

They're combining characters. e.g. Blacksmith boy.

  • A Game of Thrones
  • A Clash of Kings
  • A Storm of Swords
  • A Feast for Crows
  • A Dance with Dragons
  • The Winds of Winter (Coming "Soon")

If you're looking to read the books for watered down sex scenes your wrong. There's a lot of implied rape, or rape in the book doesn't end up on the show because HBO fears that people would be uncomfortable I guess. I would highly recommend reading the books though. The show misses out of some finer details (like any adaptation) and takes liberties at some points. Plus, then there will be no more spoilers.

EDIT: Just to clarify though, you're right that the scene in ep 3 was different in the book.
