Trading System - Why it is possible
 

Thanks to admins, we had an amazing Easter Egg hunt 2014. Players were encouraged to trade and communicate with others to help complete their collections faster.

This got me thinking, if they kept the idea that both players could see the item/furniture/amount of gralats/mount before they had a chance to accept it, just in case of a scam, then why isn't this an easy way to create a trade system?

It would be easy as, just like the easter eggs, you could request a trade through a players profile. This could then be used in ALL present and future quests to allow another dimension to them as there could be multiple endings.

Just wanted to express my confusion why this isn't already in the making and if I am wrong and it is, please tell me? ;D

Ideas for trade systems have been brought up in the past and the answer is always "no".

I know.
But you must see why I am bewildered why this isn't possible? If an admin/gp posted now and said "We would love to but [ reason why not ] then at least we would be able to see their side of the debate.

im not a staff and i dont have a clue why they dont add it but heres a good reson not to implement it(imo).

some of these 12 year old noobs are freaking ******ed and many would easily be scammed into paying real money for a "rare" hat from 09-10. Classic doesnt want players to pay other players for hats, they want players to pay classic for hats.

Complete misunderstanding. TRADE, not buy/sell. I wasn't aware you could purchase easter eggs for real money.

say i have and old hat. I tell some newbie that i will sell it for $10(real money), all he has to do is pay me through various methods(outside the game) and once the payment was received I would just trade him the hat for a gralat in-game or scam him.



edit: i guess what im trying to say is that it would be another tool for scammers.

In my opinion, having a trading system would keep money in the economy, which in turn would decrease the need for people to purchase gralats via Facebook. If it's kept how it is (no trading system), money used to buy stuff from shops is gone forever, meaning less money in the economy, meaning more people buying gralats via Facebook.

I wanted this really bad as a newb, but trading will pull the trigger on your "fake" friends and admins won't be able to handle all the scamming reports.

We would love to but this just isn't possible since it would ruin the game in multiple ways and classic would make less money.

Duh, its possible, but not going to happen.
It was only added to the egg hunting because it is pretty low-risk. If you got scammed into trading a rare egg for a common egg, too bad, you can get another one; worst case scenario, you dont get a fat bunny. Besides, after a few hours of hunting most people know whats rare or not.

trading hats, furniture, items etc is much more higher risk. You dont know what to value your hat at compared to a furniture piece. And it is much easier to scam. Pull out a halloween 2011 hat that you bought for 1gralat and trade a noob for the hat he just won in an event. Besides the fact that circulating old stuff ruins rarity.

What if it's trading that you could only get currently in the game, having the chance to buy an item back if scammed?

This is still a bad idea as you could then increase the circulation of older hats.

Trading on multiple accounts can fixed by only identified accounts and Graal+ can trade, and there can be a limit to how many times you trade per week, or every 24hrs. This could still mean that people identify loads of accounts, but if anyone wants to waste time with 10 different emails, then let them go ahead. I am not looking for problems here, I am looking for solutions.

It is possible, it's just that the answer to implement it is no :0
