In the halloween 2014 post, a few graalians and myself thought it would be cool to have arrow skins since there are bomb skins, I have made one, it's nothin special it is a pin, I thought a voodoo theme would be cool this year. I will leave the template if anyone wants to make their own.

I heard arrow skins were supposedly laggy when being shot, something like that I heard from a past thread.

I like the concept, somebody should definitely look into this. On the other hand, wouldn't the bow itself require a re-skin to compliment the arrows?

that would actually be a good upgrade/addition.

A wearable quiver would also be nice.

Dont really see a purpose for them, but it would be nice.

Quiver should like add 50 - 100 more capacity :L

I looked into this, the bow itself is part of a gani and I cannot for the life of me find its sprite sheet, my concept art contained two spools of thread connected to each other for the bowstring, and a regular wooden arch.

Delt has quivers and they look pretty cool, this quiver would be a voodoo doll with pins sticking out.

But the thing is, all your arrows will be stolen within the first 10 shots :(

? so you buy more arrows? its a skin, not a whole new item.

Maybe just to keep them fair, yet still differ from normal arrows, the new arrow (and bow) skins could then add a status effect instead of damage. Such as:

Knockback: This is simply a way of knocking players further away from the shooter. Would be good to knock players back into crowds and/or away from flags in forts.

Fatigue: A slowing effect. Could be sold to affect players speed OR sword swing OR arrow shooting speed. Maybe a shorter effect time could be balanced out by inflicting the effect on players within a small radius of impact.

Confusion: A fun one to be used in events and/or sold in annual event shops, could not be re-purchased once used and cannot be dropped. Renders the D-PAD directions inaccurrate and will randomly replace each key with a direction, same with hotbar items. Would not be allowed in forts.

These are just three ideas of ways to still keep things fair yet still provide more interesting gameplay usage for arrows, as well as having their own customs skins.

You aren't the first to suggest this. I recall developers mentioning that there's something in the coding of arrows that makes it very difficult to do.

Droid, every thread I see you on you ask for stuff like this. Why do you think everything only does .5 damage? Graal was created with everyone on a level playing field, you always suggest crappy game changers that un-balance the game.

Im pretty sure that its because as you use the arrow it would have to go thru the files to find which arrow sprite to use, so it would lag.

Ok people, its an arrow SKIN you get it once and you have it forever... you dont buy them over and over again.

Fire Surge 08-31-2014 02:52 AM

I'm pretty sure that you have no idea what you're talking about. That's not how skins work. Even though they may be part of the "Bow" class or whatever, they're seperate weapon NPCs.

wildkeldeo 08-31-2014 06:36 AM
