What is this Game?

So I've been playing this game on and off. Started a couple of years ago. It was pretty neat. The first thing I saw was a panda and I just had to play after that. The map was huge! The customization was elaborate.

Then I went back to legit MMO gameplay in Celtic Heroes, Pocket Legends, Order and Chaos.

When updates rarely came by to Order and Chaos, and the sh*tty community in the game, I quit that.

Pocket legends was pretty fun but then I got sick of the dungeon type system and wanted a 3D open world.

I currently play and enjoy Celtic Heroes.

When I reflect on the time I've spent on this game. What is this? The only MMO aspect to this is that 1 quest that grants us 1000 gralats, and even that is very tedious to do.

The PKING and Towering element is fun. Guess what the prize is? Pixelated hats. I've got 3 1K hats over the course of playing this game because there was simply nothing to do than kill and capture flags.

When my friends weren't starting another guild I just simply quit. The community here is on par with Order and Chaos as well, it did not add much to the games positives. Trolls and 10 year old players were VERY common.

Right now, it seems pretty clear to me that this game is a 3D version of facebo, but worse. You talk with people across the globe whom you probably will never see or meet.

I know this may seem insulting to many but its the truth. We are socially rejected people who would rather play with online friends than with reality.

Lets all discuss why we all play this game and what we get from it. Artists for sure have gained a lot through this game but I'm sure we aren't all the second coming of Picasso.

I think a better question is what do you really think you should be getting out of an iPhone game?

Can't answer your question.

It's too deep for me.

At least games like Pocket Legends have a directive, where on Classic it explains how to do things like add people and open your map, then throws you into the game. Practically clueless what anything is.

Order and Chaos has had more content updates than Classic, including the new 70 cap and a new set of PvP modes/arenas and gear lmao and new locations.

Graal for me was just for socializing

'You talk to people you will never see or meet'.

That kinda applies for all games that are online...Also you will get trolls in almost anything that is on the internet, so I don't see why you are making a big deal of it. I suggest Era if your'e looking for something that you do not really get bored of, you can do something almost every day on there (loads of updates). I prefer classic though, but that's just personal preference...most of the community aren't actually that young, mainly 13-19.

I like furniture.
A lot.
It helps as practice for mapping in game design :)

Also, strangely enough, the graal community for graphics design and development contains a rich cross section of the gaming community, from all ages.

Order and Chaos was more repetitive than World of Warcraft, and that's saying something.

YOU MAKE A POINT! most iphone games don't even have nothing until you get the upgrade. Honestly Graal is a better game than most games out their. I mean really, what other games have a mmorpg are out there that have a sort of adventure and leaves a mystery and able to be social with people AND have a sword-fighting sort of action. Now that I think of it, we all in one point claim this game is boring. But we can't seem to let go. My mind is blown.

What makes you use FaceBook or Instagram? There is your answer.

Can't take this seriously considering it's coming from a Graal player and Graal is the most repetitive game out there, hey man not my fault you most likely didn't know what to do when you hit the level cap.

I agree, Graal is more repetitive than O&C, but I rarely log on Graal anymore.

I didn't have the motivation to get past level 19.

The point of my thread was to see why people still play this game despuite the lack of pure content, just hats being added all the time which serve really no purpose.

The comments so far here have been great, the Graalians forum trolls are still asleep it seems.

i'll go first then mainly play for friends and for towering, when i'm bored and i have nothing to do in rl i mostly just tower and help ppl.

Narcosis 10-21-2014 10:49 PM

You're comparing Graal Classic to games it shouldn't be compared to, at all. I get lots of enjoyment out of Classic (and I don't even PK much at all. I don't tower or spar). I enjoy the customization, designing houses, collecting items that become rare over time, and yes, socializing with people I've met who I've gotten to know pretty well. There's actually so much to do in Classic if you're creative.

It's not for everyone, no, but just because you don't enjoy it doesn't mean that it's a faulty game. I actually downloaded Celtic Heroes recently just to give it a shot. Honestly I couldn't play it for more than 10 minutes before becoming extremely bored. I've also tried other iphone MMOs, but none of them have held my interest for more than an hour. Graal Classic is perfect for me. Yes, I have made some comments regarding the overall lack of consistent updates and new content, but I still love the game. I get bored sometimes, having played for so long, but I still enjoy it (as do 3000 other people).
