It's that time again! Let's play "What's wrong with my shield?"
Also known as "Why did it get rejected?"

Contestants at the ready... what rules have been broken by this shield
that I tried to upload!?

Second round... this one? Anything wrong here?

MisaChan 11-21-2014 09:25 AM

Theres something wrong on that shield.... It makes people spam shield codes.

4-Lom 11-21-2014 09:42 AM

Well the reasons I got back are "It breaks a rule or something of that nature" and "Copyright issues."

The first does not seem to be very clear, and the second... I'm wondering if it's a paradox in the graal universe - copyrighted material not allowed for use in game includes graphics in game?

Move this thread to the forum games section as it is a forum game

So my edited version is 'copyright infringement' but this is acceptable.

Wow.

Livid 11-21-2014 11:17 AM

No, the most likely reason it was denied is because you decided to upload piece of the land that also looked like it held gralats. I believe they rejected it because 1.) Its size, which covers your body or 2.) It has gralats and could possibly trick, and or blend in to players.

4-Lom 11-21-2014 11:25 AM

Well I intend to make a window in my GH using statues. They told me it was 'copyright issues' and that's all the answer I received... tried feedback, to no avail, and it's not really a toonslab worthy issue... I guess I just have to wait for an admin who is a little more mature and/or communicative..

Apparently this one's "filesize" is too large (almost 3kb).

Who's driving this boat, man?

We do not accept graal sprites as shields. Also, "file size too large" is usually used for gif images that are way too large. Not in terms of dimensions, but in terms of how long it takes them to go through the whole animation.

The file was a png?

Files over 128kb are also not accepted. Too big

... I think it was 2.7 kb?

I just wish that some one would give me the time of day and help get my image accepted or tell me what needs to change for it to be. When they can hit the deny button in less than 2 minutes, but can't respond to the feedback system, it gets frustrating.

See here for further issues I have faced previously in this area.

Brick 11-22-2014 04:35 AM

I'm not sure then. Might have been a mistake. Depending on how large it looks on the body, they might have meant to use "Too big" as the disapprove reason.

4-Lom 11-22-2014 06:57 AM

Well I did my best to make it not massively huge - my initial idea was to fill every spot in a 512 x 80 png with the image. I reduced it to about 40x40 per facing side of the character... I tried to align it so that it shouldn't block out any of the player, as well.

I've seen way larger shields out there (some that are just a white panel blocking the character even, because of transparency issues) and wonder how come we don't all get equal treatment, basically, or have clear guidelines so that I can avoid getting rabid about stuff like this.

I even tried uploading it as a personal shield, so as to avoid people "spamming" the image, and it didn't get accepted then either.

How to proceed? If I have to upload 4 different files to slice apart and then overlap the shield graphics to make one image because a single one is too large, I can do that too - to get around these silly rules...
