Expired - Rules and Ranks Information

A Minecraft server is only as good as its playerbase, and that's why we ask that you follow these simple rules.

Play Respectfully:
  • Avoid griefing other players. Sometimes it is tempting to alter other people's work, liberate their items, or even kill them, but it is unacceptable behavior on this server. Just remember that we keep logs of every tool you make, every block you break. We'll be watching you.
  • Please make your chatting easy to read. This means that you should avoid repeating yourself, splitting up sentences into many lines of text, and even repeatedly doing something in-game to create server message spam (i.e. dying). It also means that you should converse with others with respect and kindness.

Play Fairly:
  • Asking for items, rank changes, teleports, etc. from operators is off limits. No one likes a freeloader!
  • Alert an operator if you find a chest that isn't locked and you feel it should be. Do not just pillage the items.
  • If you discover a bug, report it to an operator. The only bug abuse that's allowed here is killing spiders.
  • It really is common sense, but do not give out your Minecraft password. If your account is insecure in any way and someone commandeers it, the resulting damage/rulebreaking is your responsibility; your account will be punished for it.

Play Neatly:
  • It is not good to leave 1x1 block columns aka noob towers. If you must create one to view the land from a high point, please remove it immediately afterwards. Small tip: Use sand blocks for this purpose!
  • Floating trees and floating giant mushrooms are the epitome of untidiness. If you chop the trunk of a tree or stem of a giant mushroom, chop it down entirely. Leaving just one block of wood in a treetop will create a floating tree, and likewise with giant mushrooms.
If you carry out activities that go against any of the above guidelines you will be punished and may lose access to the server.

This server uses a rank system to determine what players can do in-game. Ranks are shown through the colors of players' names, loosely matching Graal's AP system, and they can both increase and decrease at an operator's discretion.

Guests:
  • Guest users are members of the community who are suspected of doing some kind of action against the server rules. Essentially, these guys are under an enquiry but haven't been online to speak to about whatever they've done. Such users are represented with a red nickname in the chat. Guest users are very limited in that they can only explore and chat to the community. If you become a "Guest User" you will be able to appeal against this status through a private message to PiX or Dusty, the operators of the server, on these forums.

Settlers:
  • What we refer to as a "settler" would be a new member of the community who is just beginning their adventure on the server. Such users are represented with a gray nickname in the chat. While they are able to chat, build and use tools freely (with the exception of redstone torches) settlers are restricted to the following chat commands:

    • /nick [nickname] - Enables the user to use a different nickname when using the chat feature.
    • /afk - Marks the user as away.
    • /msg [user] [message] - Sends a private message to the user of choice.
    • /ignore [user] - Ignores all messages from the specified user.
    • /r [message] - Sends a private message to the last member who messaged you.
    • /sethome - Allows the user to set a home point for themselves.
    • /home - Allows the user to warp to their home point.
    • /delhome - Deletes the warp that is set as a home point.
    • /spawn - Takes the user to the server spawn point.
    • /realname [user] - Displays the username of a specified nickname.
    • /tpaccept - Accepts a teleporting request.
    • /tpdeny - Denies a teleporting request.

Citizens:
  • After a few weeks of being an active participant in the server, members are switched to the rank of "Citizen." Such users are represented with a green nickname in the chat. Citizens are able to do everything that a settler can do, but they are also allowed to use redstone, water buckets, can have their own region-protected towns, and are equipped with additional commands to enhance their experience:

    • /tpa [user] - Sends a request for the user to teleport to you.
    • /tpahere [user] - Sends a request asking the user if you can be teleported to them.
    • /sethome [name] - Allows the user to set up to three different home points for themselves.
    • /home [name] - Allows the user to warp to specified home point.
    • /delhome [name] - Deletes the specified warp that is set as a home point.
    • Region Management - Additional commands for managing regions can be found here.

Veterans:
  • Members of the community who have proven to be trustworthy and who we feel have had a great contribution to the server will receive a "veteran" rank. Such users are represented with a blue nickname in the chat. Veterans are proactive in assisting the community, and are trusted with the ability to use both fire and lava in addition to the above commands. Veterans can also use the following:

    • /sethome [name] - Allows the user to set up to five different home points for themselves.

Operators:
  • Operating staff are the administrators of the server. Such users are represented with a yellow nickname in the chat. Operators are the people you should forward any problems to, whether you've noticed a bug, or have someone who is constantly harassing you. These guys will take care of business. In addition to dealing with server issues, operators can define regions and are the people to approach when getting your areas protected.

Why can't settlers use water buckets? This makes collecting obsidian, dealing with lava, and safely descending very difficult

It can be resource intensive when spammed a lot, so its more of a failsafe and I do agree it would be a pain in the ass.
No redstone for you though, that I agree with o_o

Sure that's okay as long as pressure plates and basic circuitry still works

Pretty sure the last thing we decided was settlers couldn't place redstone torches, that was all.
