What is the maximum viewing distance for Graal?

Sorry to suddenly make another thread. But I was wondering, if I connected my PC to my 50" TV and played Graal. Would the viewing distance (how much of the gmap I can see my on my screen) be any different a 19" monitor?

Probably wouldn't change, since screen sizes are mostly configured by resolution.
So no matter how big the monitor you're playing on, everything will scale to resolution size.

Your resolution can increase with the size of your monitor.

But not that much. Just because he hooks it up to a 50" screen doesn't mean he's going to get a massive boost. In fact since it's a TV it will probably be either 720p or 1080p.

To answer your question, Graal renders the level you are in, and the adjacent levels(aka a 3x3 chunk of levels). A level is 64x64 tiles, and a tile is 16x16 pixels. 16*64*3 = 3072.

You can hit the max via multiple monitors or 4k monitor, but either way all you'll be able to see is black beyond the adjacent levels.

I don't actually have a TV. I just watch my parents' crappy 720p 32" TV from 2007.

The only thing that matters is the resolution not the size of your tv, your ppi (pixels per inch) You can even make your tv run in resolutions higher than what it currently is. Won't look amazing, but you can have a bigger viewing distance. I tried it once, the highest I got to was being able to see battle arena to the bank. Pretty crazy, I was actually wanting to try a bigger resolution and dive for loot. Maybe I'll see more diving bubbles.

Upscaling my monitor to 2560x1500 was a nice change to play Graal, but everything was so pixely!

If it looks that way, you have the game itself set to a low resolution. At a higher resolution, you will see more around you, and your character will appear smaller on-screen, rather than big and pixelated.
