Phone troubles & jobs

Can't convince parents to get me a phone, they don't like contracts or monthly payments.

So, I am planning on doing what I can to get together some money to get myself a phone; any recommendations? This is something that I'd be stuck with for a while (in high school, not loaded with money to buy new phones shat out by manufacturers every 2 days), so I'm asking for recommendations of high-end "flagship" phones that will be/are able to compare for some time hardware/software-wise to other phones released in the future.

(Currently leaning towards the Oneplus One or HTC One m8)

Also, suggestions for how to pull together around $300-800 for a phone? 15 years old, high school student. Can't convince my parents to let me get a job, either. ****.

Get new parents.

My friend didn't want a phone, and his mom forced him to get an iPhone.

The best I can get out of my parents is a pay-as-you-go flip phone from CVS Pharmacy for "emergencies only".

:(

Make a codeshop/maze in your backyard with some noody magazines at the finish. Then go to the front of your house and advertise your maze. $2 per person

He's asking a question. Maybe you could be nice enough to actually make a valid post.

Anyways,

@Isaac,
I'd recommend just at least helping put others (cutting lawns, pulling weeds, etc.)
Honestly, they will probably pay you well.

Typically 20-30$ and sometimes not worth it time-wise as it could take 1-4 hours (Our min. Wage is 10.55$/h anyways)

Honestly, you people amaze me how you must have the latest thing that your parents pay for. It sickens me really, but on the brightside, you're willing to work for it, so I'll give you that. I suggest snow shoveling if possible. Doesn't usually take long and typically, depending on length and how many areas, can pay as high as 50$. Or you could aleays try doing art comissions. Another is posting ads online that states you're looking to do menial things like mowing, shovelling, etc.

I used to be a pseudo-massuse and made a little bit of cash by word of mouth. Good luck guys

Give it a couple more years for your parents to realize how inconvenient it is to not have you carry a phone.

I just want a phone that'll be considered a "flagship" for a few years, not to be replaced every few months, just want it for help making new friends (I'm incredibly awkward in social situations). Snow shoveling isn't an option in southern California. Only art I can make is some amateur pixel art, so art commissions is an ehh.

Oh, they just use landlines and terrible old Nokia "bricks" that get very little to no use out of them.

Also the issue with the $7 drugstore flipphone for calling them or the cops, don't want a phone that I'd be embarrassed to be seen in public with.
