Creating iPhone music backups
 

Does anyone know how to transfer music files from an iPhone and/or iPad without the use of 3rd party software or know of an opensource solution?
I've been looking and can only find free software riddled with viruses or annoying trial versions which might only copy half the selected songs.

You can back everything up in iTunes.

I heard alleged reports of malware included with this, can you vouch as to this being 'safe' ?

Worked fine for me when I used it, no signs of malware or anything.

iFunBox is fine, I've used it many times as well on my MacBook Pro.
