I hope Planetside 2 for PS4 isn't gonna be severely affected...

The video from gamespot mentioned that they said this won't affect current games at all. The most that could happen is an Xbox One port of PS2 and other games due to the devs not being tied down to Sony anymore.

John Smedley doesn't seem concerned, I don't think it's a bad thing.
The only concern would be that the company that bought SOE doesn't understand the business model of games/MMOs and makes cuts.

Lol yes it will. F2p generates more revenue than pay2play. But what you should expect is lots of cash grabbing microtransactions.

Everquest changed MMO's in a big way. It's dated now but back when it was released it was mind-blowing.

Planetside 2 is also amazing.

Everquest 2 had it tough because it pretty much had to compete with WoW lol.

I agree entirely, I have way too many games in my steam library to be playing it on top of college etc, but nothing like getting a group of friends together to fly around in the new valkaries, I do love the addition of auto turrets, adds more defensive strategies to being an engineer.

So yea, this happened.
