Some Ideas
Note that some of these ideas may not originally be mine, but I have either made changes to them or added onto it.
Factions Faction Points So far, there are very few differences between Indians and Cowboys. So I thought, how about Faction Points. These points are awarded to you as either feathers(Indians) or silver horseshoes(Cowboys). Everyone will start off as level 1, but everytime you level up you get awarded more points. Other ways to earn these points are through finishing quests, killing x amount of players from the other faction, etc. Everyday you get a quest from a Chief(Indian) or Sheriff(Cowboy), they give you a random task to do and it is up to you to finish it, if failure to do so within 24 hours, you are assigned a different task. If you finish it you earn x amount of points and exp. The more tasks you do, the harder they will become. You can only do one quest each day as well. You might be wondering, what will I do with these points? You use these points to buy things from your faction's shop. The shop will have you buy from house designs to weapons to weapon skins to horses to just about anything. You can even exchange your points for gralats. Your shop's items will differ depending on what faction you are. For example, Indians will have things like bows and Cowboys will have things like guns. Your faction level will also matter in the shop. Your level shows how much loyalty you have. So obviously the higher the loyalty, the better items they will sell you in the shop. If you ever change your faction, you will lose all your loyalty(levels/exp), your faction items, and your faction points. If you change back, you will have to restart...and it will become harder to level up(loyalty), for example before it took you 50 exp to become level 2 now it will take you 75 exp to become level 2. This may seem strict, but this helps discourage people from changing factions back and forth. Eventually, once your loyalty becomes higher again, the exp you need to level up, will become the same as normal. Faction Skills/Jobs To help differentiate the factions even more there should be Indian-only and Cowboy-only skills.Indians and Cowboys get their own exclusive job. Cowboys can't do Indian jobs, while Indians can't do cowboy jobs. Also, regular jobs which both factions can do might favor another. For example, wood-cutting is easier to level up for Indians, but mining is easier for Cowboys. Unlike faction points, when changing factions your levels do not reset when switching factions. Houses Terrain Each house should have the same type of terrain, when first receiving/buying your house. If you want to change your terrain to something like snowy or tropical, there is a weather machine shop in Oasis. Terrain affects things like farm crops. In certain terrains, blueberries grow slower, but in others blueberries grow faster. The terrain should also affect some furniture items, for example bushes. In some terrains the bushes can be lush and green, but in others they are dry or dead. Gang Houses Instead of buying Gang houses through iap,I think gangs should earn them instead. You can earn Gang houses by winning gang tournaments such as GST. You can also earn them through getting 1k hours in basing. Another way is by the upcoming Gang point system. To own a gang house you need to pay x amount of gang points. Night/Day System In morning, it is more peaceful. There are less War Indians and Bandits, and less wild animals like bears. In the night, it become more dangerous. More War Indians and Bandits come out, and more wild animals. Night, should also introduce new bugs which only come out at night such as fireflies. There will be an option to turn off night, if it becomes too dark for you. In-game it will still be night, but it just won't show you the dark. Everyone should have the same exact time as well. If it is 1:00 in-game for me, it will be the same for everyone else. During certain times, secret places will open up as well. For example a secret bandit's hideout cave opens during 5:00 at night and will close the entrance at 5:05 at night. To add on to this, some shops will close when it becomes night, while bars and restaurants open during the night. A 24 hour day in-game should last about 1 hour in real time. To find out what time it is exactly, there could be a clock in your stats/options or perhaps a town clock in the game. If you want to get really specific, you can even add a week day system. EX: At night 3:00 on Sunday, this secret shop will open. I will add more as I go. Feel free to agree/disagree, add on, change, or criticize the ideas. |
