Graal is coming to MLG

Hey guys,
I've been in contact with the Game Ladders Admin on Gamebattles.com, which is the tournament/ladder circuit known as MLG. It seems hopeful that Graal will be added to MLG and there will be a 1v1, 2v2, and 5v5 ladder! I'll keep everyone updated as more information comes in.

What

This might bring publicity to graal but... What

First of all, if you are talking about competitive sparring, then a big roadblock is the lag. iClassic is one of the few games out there that you can rightfully blame lag on you losing, because it's just that bad.

Although I agree Graal needs to better their servers, there are times during the day where there is little lag, so if you're challenging someone aim for those hours. Also if you're complaining after every match you lose, about lag, it's probably you who lags. I want to bring this point forward, during the regular season, matches will be challenge only. So don't challenge people you think lag or know lag.

MLG will be our way of creating competitive systems without having Graal staff involved. No more waiting for 2v2 arenas, single spar tourneys, or every 3months for GST. All of these will be available on MLG, and depending on how many people we attract to gamebattles URL there will eventually be prizes to win! Crimewatcher and his Event Hosting guild will most likely take over the responsibility of refereeing matches along with anyone else looking to apply.

Once they see what Graal is like they will probably cancel any plans with making a tournament out of it, there is under 100 people who actually spar so it is not too popular and would be a huge waste of money setting it up.

Worst statement ever, all of the main spar guilds consist of 20+ each, with at least 10 of each actively sparring as a minimum. If MLG became involved with Graal, it would only increase activeness

Graal has massive potential, it only takes a buyer/sponser/broadcaster to realise it and develop it

Colin 03-04-2015 08:41 PM

Out of that 20 people at least 60% of them are in other high-tier spar guilds as well. Half of them are literally just the same roster under a different guild name.

I would also as of now only consider 3-4 guilds to be above average and good enough to compete, any hosted tournaments would be a majority of noob guilds who think they are good, same with the players in them it would tend to be the same players winning and anyone who joins just to spar for the tournaments is going to have a terrible time becoming good at it.

Colin was being realistic here. The thing is we really don't know the exact answer. But if they deny, we can still host our matches through Crime's events and have fun with it.
I like how Demrow came up with this idea. I always thought about it but now it's like taking a step forward to a real stage.
