Boomerangs

As I was browsing through the St. Patrick's shop, I found the clover boomerang. I was very excited thinking it would work as a new mechanic for weapons, instead it was basically just a melee. I think that boomerangs should work like real boomerangs.
Here's how I imagine it would work:
-doesn't use ammo to use
-you can only shoot one at a time
-you can't switch to a different weapon while it's in use
-different boomerangs have different ranges and damage
-you CAN move while it's in use
-it basically follows it's way to you

Here's how boomerangs would be different:
When you shoot the boomerang at someone, it goes through them, but still damages them. After it hits them, the boomerang is still in use. If someone goes in the way, it will also damage them. You can basically hurt a good sized amount of people if they are all close together, and manage to be in the direction you throw the boomerang. As the boomerang reaches the limited to it's range it starts to go back to you. If you move, the boomerang changes it's direction and continues to follow you. As you move, you go behind a person, putting him in between you and the boomerang. As the boomerang makes it's way back to you, it also damages the player in the way of your boomerang.

Boomerangs can damage multiple players and even attack them more than once if you are skilled enough to change the paths of the boomerang as it goes back to you. They do have their cons though, since you won't be able to use a different weapon while they're in use and you will only be able to use one. Boomerangs shouldn't be any easy weapon to use, but if you master it, it can be very rewarding.

Feel free to post your concerns and add/make changes to the idea.

Sounds like this can work very well and make a new unique item.

I wasted 10k because i thought the boomerang lived up to its name and was long range. :'(
