Bug Catching job REVAMP
HEY!!
Alright, so you guys know how it works. I find a job that we have and I make a thread about it so we can see what can be better and how it can be improved. I know bug catching has had some huge problems over the last few days, and I want to sit down and put a lot of time into re-writing the whole job. How it works, bug payouts, etc. NOW.. I understand you're probably thinking "oh my gosh I joined this game because of how much money bug catching gives me, noooooooo :(". Don't worry, this is why I'm making this thread. I was thinking, lets say bugs give 100g or whatever. Why not just keep that price for the lowest level bug (level 1 bugs), and then make other bugs require a higher level/exp to catch them, and they pay more than they used to. You'd gain exp with each bug you catch so you can level up and capture higher level bugs. Also, the bugs would have a little "Level 1" floating under or above it, to show the bug's level. I know I start a lot of projects, or at least 'announce' that I am working on projects without finishing them. This is because we, as a staff team, realize that there are projects with higher priority that are more important that need to be completed before others. Bug Catching is a huge thing on Ol'West, and this is why I want to get this done sooner than some of the other projects, so it works correctly and is more fun and interesting than it used to be. Perhaps we can make bug catching even more fun and interesting? Before I start work on this, I want your guys' feedback on what should be done. Please post below! |
Hmm ye sounds cool, I think this should definitely be added! Well, if this is added, could we possibly start at the level of how many bugs we have already caught in the past? :P

If bugs are going to have a level written above/under them there should probably also be an option to turn this off! Like how you can turn off having peoples names below them, because when you're not bug catching it might get kind of annoying to have little words floating around the screen! |
I like this :) is it essentially just a levelling system for bug catching to add something new to try and achieve?

So if Level 1 bugs are 100. How many more gralats are they sold for and how much would they be sold for at level 100?

In addition, you could add the spawn area for example certain insects ( scorpions in the desert and spiders in the forest or dark place and etc.)

Awesome! So since we're introducing a revamp for the bugs we should also introduce some new ways on finding the bugs rather than wandering around. For example: If you lift up a bush you might find a bug there and then you catch it!
We could also introduce new tools for different levels: I'm sure you all can collaborate on new ideas for this. Levels 1-15 get the default jar. Levels 16-25 get a net. etc.. etc.. Maybe even have bugs in the caves or near water! Perhaps if we introduce lilly pads on water areas on the map then we can add small frogs too? (No, this isn't a bug, but we DO have scorpions that you can catch. So why not add frogs too?) I already have images for a frog made so this is already done if you all agree. SO! New ways to find bugs, New tools for catching higher level bugs AND new places for bugs(caves, lillypads, water, in rocks, in wood!) |
The better tool you have to catch a bug, the easier it is to catch it.

Bug and Bath and Beyond
Tools: 1-15: Jar 15-40:bug net(catches bugs in a biger area then jars) 40-70: Bait & Trap(can stand still with the bait held out and bugs will come to you and you can switch to catch mode to catch them or it just insta catches them) 70+: bug traps (can be placed on the ground and stay for 5 minutes if thye dont catch something they return to your inventory you can also pick up manually and have a maxium of 20 down at a time) Dont make these things have durability just be able to buy from the store and all should sell for $20 so its a prefrence. |
