When I tried to upload I got this:

I had an upload ban on my other account, would that affect it?

fp4 04-28-2015 10:07 PM

the error says the file size is too big.

the error says the file size is too big.

How do I make the file smaller?
The dimensions are fine.

Isn't there a resize button in whatever gfx program you're using?

Blu 04-28-2015 10:41 PM

I use gimp, and there are tools to resize it but not reduce the amount of bytes.
Edit: If you could make the file smaller for me, reply and I'll message you the file :)

File size, not file dimensions. Two very different things. File size refers to the actual size in bytes, while dimensions refers to the size in pixels(width*height).

I take it you're trying to upload a guild logo? Why not post it?

Resizing can help the filesize under certain circumstances(resizing a 1000x1000 pixel image down to 400x400 will make a big difference). Other methods you can try are saving the image as jpeg... but these things only apply to guild logos. GIFs will also increase the filesize, and that's hard to remedy as each frame(to a degree) adds to the size of the file.

The picture is odd

I'm actually making a head, though it only has about 30 frames.
Didn't think that was too many.

This is the file, to anyone out there: Don't be a **** and post it on your ****ty gfx site.

The amount of frames for a head like that should've been around 18:

•1 frame for eyes staying open (5000ms)
•3-4 frames for eyes closing (100-125ms)
•3-4 frames for eyes opening (100-125ms)
•1 frame for eyes staying open (5000ms)
•3-4 frames for eyes closing (100-125ms)
•3-4 frames for eyes opening (100-125ms)

30 frames is wayyyyyy too much

You could cut that down even further since the file automatically loops. *Bold shows where redundant.

But I'd like the eyes to change colour. I'll see if I can fit that into 18 frames, thanks everyone! :)

Ik, but like Blu said, he wanted the eyes to change color, so that's why I put it in twice. I ordered the bullets according to how the animation should be.

Send me the file, I'll fix it

Dusty 04-29-2015 06:28 PM

Next time save it as an optimized gif, all frames that have the same information will not count towards the filesize. Me simply saving it as optimized changed the filesize from 177kb to 8kb).

Alternatively, instead of using multiple frames for idle frames just set the time.

You were just asking him to make you a head though.
