Mentors

When you first started did you have someone teach you how to play?
It would be pretty cool to see who taught who.

Dae(Deity) sparred with me in his guild house for countless hours when I first started out, really great guy/friend.

Slayer(ET) as well.

Aga Kaage
Auel
Orfeo
Morzan
John
James
Pierce

The State taught me what I know.

As far as playing the game I learned on my own. Simple-Z and Bartholomew Kuma helped me with other things such as revolution, codes, and the mechanisms of the game.

Black Starr was the one that probably thought me the most by constantly beating me. She was the best PK'r I ever faced and I would always attack her which helped me get better.

Being in VeNuS GoSpeL as a noob was pretty helpful, as there were a lot of experienced players in there and I just ended up learning most of the game through conversation.

Spar was different because I got into that after VG was done. Killman, Fro, Praydoh, Rufus (a little), and Comyt were people I probably learned the most from when I first began.

Dae (gave me advice and stuff and helped me out when I started iClassic and added me to Emprical and stuff to help me get to know people. He gave me a brief intro to the main sparrers and told me a bit about them and how to counter them. I also must add that I left Empirical after like a week of joining because I was always by myself talking to the 0 members online who were in ally tag (Deity) but eeh very considerate of him doe)

Dr.Khmer (Scouted me when I first started and GS'd with me and helped me improve. Was going to do my first GST alongside him but he went inactive. I do wish I did get to do it with him I heard he was very very good)

Comyt (This wasn't a huge one and he probably won't remember this but when I first began I spotted Comyt at GS room at the top by himself. I recruited him and we GS'd together. I then spoke to him a lot about iClassic and sparrers and he told me about the playerbase briefly and how I can improve and get better and gave me advice on what to do. I emphasize that this was when I was a noob, most people would ignore me if I asked them about stuff when I first began)

Rygor (I wouldn't say Rygor was a main mentor like Dae and Dr Khmer. But he was someone who was open to helping people. I sparred him when I frst began and I lost to him a few times and he kept giving me advice on how to improve and helped me out I still use the advice he gave me sometimes)

Mshaks (Gave me my first breakthrough when 5pa4 were #2 iDevice team on iClassic he added me and let me GS against the top-tier teams and basically gave me my first break and helped me out a lot. He introduced me to people like Memo and Sugar who I'm friends with still to this day. He gave me the confidence and his belief in me allowed me to get better and do better at GS)

I was always my own leader
I learnt alot from my leadership.

I never had a real master but I breifly had a mentor named commander link, he had a guild called triforce gang , he taught me what guilds were all about he also told me how to get ti certain areas such as deadwood.

Albie 06-15-2015 11:40 PM

Just remembered that in my first day Majin told me I had potential and gave me a few tips. I also remember asking someone for a guild, might of been Contego and then Majin recruited me to SDE where I met my current GST. :)
That's kicked everything off.

My best friends showed me Graal, but we never really even played together. He wasnt interested in towering, PKing, or spar. So I was brought up in PiNoY for the most part.

Chun 06-16-2015 12:30 AM

i didn't really hv a mentor, but I sparred with xoss alot in his gh

Vic 06-16-2015 12:32 AM

I never had a mentor and I was really a lone wolf. I guess twilit was my mentor indirectly because I read his pk website and that's what got me into pking. And for sparring I suppose thallen due to his guide(s). I used to be around -1000 and I've closed the gap so I'm only down around 270 I think. Much respect to you two.

Weaselman taught me everything about bomb glitching into farms after stealing all of my gralats. It eventually led to learning how to offmap with bombs and gh jumps and pretty much all the glitches I knew came from him.

I kinda taught myself how to tower but Tig and other old New Age Legacy members helped me learn strategies and stuff.

Hmmm, I remember my mentor was this guy name, "King Austin". He told me how to play this game properly, showed me spar, show me the towers, and invited me to his guild. We both talked, chill, and he taught me how to become a decent sparrer, but all those "skills" went away because I quit Classic for more than two years.

Does he still play?
