Banned Players

Thoughts and opinions on stricter rules being applied to teams who try to use banned players during gst? Does it bother you or do you not mind? Personally I think teams should respect the rule more about not being able to use banned players.

idk, fair enuf.

So if your banned you can actually join a team for gst and play?

Edit: in real life that's called work release

not from the banned account but from alternate accounts, certain teams do it almost every gst.

it seems alright to admins when banned players use noob accounts to play until the ban ends(or at least appears to me that they don't mind). I don't see the point of not letting them play gst while they can do normal stuff like spar or pk on a noob account. Plus I hear alot about people purposely sending reports to make their competitions ban so they can hv a better chance of winning gst, it would be even worse if admins apply sticter rules.

Well since evading ban is a bannable offense, the teams should be disqualified if caught with a banned player on an alternate account. Just my two cents.

Of course banned players shouldn't be able to participate. This is easy. As Striken said, ban evasion isn't allowed, it simply goes undetected through day to day activities such as spar and pk because it's frankly hard to catch. In GST however, it's ridiculous that people who have been rightfully banned from the game can play and mess with the integrity of the tournament. This rule was enforced in the past (I felt it myself being part of a team with banned players on alts that was DQed) and it should continue to be enforced. It's like being banned isn't even a problem anymore, can just get on on another account and everything is fine. Ridiculous imo.

I was about to say IP bans would help but then again people could hop on a VPN and be free again.

In gst it seems easier to track who's on an alt account hiding from a ban but it doesn't seem like the hosts really care or take an interest in the issue of ban evaders participating/properly dqing. Maybe there could be some way to implement a system that makes the teams who tried using banned players not be able to participate in the gst they get caught + the next. Idk really how to word it well but yea.

Having a requirement of a certain amount of hours to enter (the gst) could work, although there is people ban evading like abood who will rack up 18 hours a day lol.
Admins should just be stricter with regards to people ban evading.

Maybe having a certain amount of spars could contribute to the requirements?

They probably need to be considerate for people who don't regularly spar/ or don't spar at all, and still plan to participate.

That's true, just food for thought I suppose. The whole system is flawed as is since anyone is able to enter.

I remember when mau5 did gst I think it was them at least but they ended up getting dq'd for using a banned player not sure if it was EP or which one of them but I haven't seen teams really get dq'd since then
