Good long anime's
 

Im going to be road tripping soon, so im looking for some longer anime's(80 episodes or so), shonen preferred. Any recommendations?

Fate/stay series is a good start.

There's two main series with around 12 episodes per season.

When I saw the title my head though One Piece..the only one I watch..then you went and said 80 is long..

Hunter x Hunter (148 Episodes) Seems childish for the first few episodes, but everyone I've shown it too and forced them to keep watching it just loved it to the end.

Kuroko no Basuke (75 Episodes - 3 season) - Men playing basket ball, MANLY highschool BASKETBALL!

Gintama - If you've seen enough anime to understand Japanese Popculture, this is a such a fun series

Legend of the Galatic Heroes - A classic, older artstyle, but is highly regarded.

Hajime no Ippo - regarded as one of the best sports anime, boxing, unique artstyle with hypey animation and soundtrack.

Magi: Labrynth of magic

Gintama

Soul eater

Maybe Chaos;Head

Oreimo

Fairy Tail

80, not 800 lol. If he can watch all of One Piece in a road trip, he'd have to drive from Canada to Argentina and back

D.Gray-Man is a good shounen, ~100ep

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is popular, but not exactly my favorite; 60-ish ep

Hunter x Hunter 2011-- action shounen, ~150ep

Yakitate Japan-- comedy ~70ep

Soul Eater-- action/comedy ~50ep

I said 80 for the road trip, one piece is like a year long enterprise lol. Thanks for the suggestions everybody!

Should I watch fate/zero before fate/staynight?

There is never a consensus on how to watch Fate/ because Fate/Zero is technically the prequel however it has some spoilers to the fate/stay night series. The best way is to read the VN first but personally watching Fate/Zero is alright but it believes you have some pretext with the original novel. Pretty much Fate/Zero hugely spoils the route of Fate/Stay Night Heaven's Feel which has yet to come out as a movie.

tl;dr watch /Zero if don't give a fk about spoil a movie that isn't out yet.

I watched Fate/stay night first and only understood half the plot.

Fate/zero is definitly the best way to start the series.

No clue on the genre, but the Monogatari series has around 60-70 episodes.
