Yeah, but both Era as well as Classic have had a little bit more time to build up their player count. As for Zone, well, I won't speak on Zone's lack of growth. Though, I'll admit, I haven't checked in there for months, so it could very well be popping nowadays. I don't know.
But, yeah, the other servers have some seniority on West. They all started from the bottom.
Believe it or not, I can recall days, or nights rather (after midnight), where there wouldn't be more than 100 people on Era. Yes, like 50 people on. 300 - 400 was peak - maybe 500 on the weekends. Looking back, thinking about it now, it's hard to convince myself that it was real. Granted, this was before it'd released to some foreign countries whose people now make up a large chunk of population.
I kind of miss it, honestly. Growth, at least in terms of how many players the game rakes in, it's a double-edged sword. Era and Classic kind of feel a little too cluttered to me. It's hard to be more than just another part of the blur of pixels, if you know what I mean.
That's a matter of opinion though. Some of you might like that, thousands and thousands of people, big blobs of players flooding the start area, the streets surrounding, waves of bullets attempting to drown you out as you go from place to place.
But, yeah, give it time. Ol' West has potential, if the administration, developers, whatnot, can give it the nourishment it requires. Though, ask yourself, do you want that, at least on the same level as the other more flushed out servers? Much like a couple of the others who've spoke up here, I like a little breathing room. Someone said they'd like a population of like 800 players. That'd be cool. 800 to, say, 1.5k.
Anyway.. sorry if this is all spam to you. I'll show myself out now.
