One day I turned it off because someone told me it decreases lag and I just got used to it.

I despise having names on.

I can see having names on with a hundred players on the screen causing lag. I'd probably have'm off.

I just find it annoying as it fills up the screen and names don't matter to me anyways

names off = smoother experience and less annoying names filling up your screen.

used to have 'em off, but cus i record gsts and other events. im used to having 'em on now. in case i forget their tag or names

Where's the "unfortunately" option?

I play with them on, but I will try setting them off to see if there's a major difference in lag.
