The one thing that makes an MMORPG great

So I recently came across a lot of opinions on why a specific MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Play Game) is great. Yet other people saw different points in it, which makes it awesome.

So now I want to have one term of each person reading this, what they like most about MMORPGs. For example "Quests", "Roleplay", "PvP","Interactive Storyline", I dont care :P . I want to know what is important to your MMORPG experience :D

Feel free to also tell us, why you enjoy this particular thing so much^^

Thank you

Let me start off:

Roleplay. Not many MMORPGs do this well but if executed greatly can be a fun game.

For me, content makes a MMORPG great. If the MMORPG have a lot of things to do and it;s fun, then that right there makes it a great MMO for me. Currently, the one taking that spot is Guild Wars 2. Loads of content to do and the world is massive so it's really is a lot of fun.

mechanics

weight, walkspeed locked to physical strenght, limited bags (inventory), diversity, character customization, self-actualization (the of-use feeling), a properly working economy, ecology, aging, decaying of food supplies, sustenance, corrosion of gear locked to environmental humidity, no instant repairs, no overpoweredness but realistic limit breaking, proper graphics, social neccessities (sims/mabinogi)

a game is supposed to take time, thats why most mmorpgs dont really surpass the 5 year lifetime mark in being successful

I agree with this

But if I had to choose one thing it would probably be an open world or customization

Depth of PvP. No matter how great you make bosses, there is only so far you can go with them. Dealing with other players is much more varied, though.
