Moby-Dick
 

I'm going to be reading this book for my English 201: Introduction to Literature course and my professor has stated not many has finished the book for various reasons. I'll be honest, I've gone through parts but not entirely. The book is way too thick (thick like the Bible).

I've actually read it in the past, its pretty good.

If you happen to enjoy it, try reading Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.

Friend has a poster of that entire book in small font outlining the iconic image of the squid. Pretty cool poster / book.

I still have PTSD of my time on that Japanese whaling ship.

Then the white sperm whale came...

Moby-**** was based off a real whale, which happen to be a Sperm Whale (slowly claps I see what they did there with the name -_-) but this whale would attack ships, this whale was apparently Albino, and was named Moka ****, he'd swim along side the whaling ships. He ended up attacking one of the ships causing sailors to fear this whale, sadly he was killed when coming to the aid of a cows calf that had be harpooned (A cow is what you call a female whale) It's sad they killed such an amazing whale, hopefully another whale like Moka comes along maybe it'll end up putting whaling to a stop

Pretty sure "****" didn't mean what it does today and was just meant to be a nickname for someone named Richard.

I think she was referring to 5hift's post.

The word had been seemed to referred to something bad, apart from it being a nick name for someone named Richard, and it eventually became to how it is though of today. I didn't do too much searching on the origins of the word, but because of today's language I said that x)
