Runescape NXT
 

With the closed beta just having ended for runescapes new nxt, it's getting pretty exiting to see runescapes future.

What the new client basically is, is a transition from java to c++ basically allowing for better graphics, better optimisation and smoother gameplay, and it looks really promising.
This definitely has the potential to bring back old players to Rs3 who may have quit, and even people who had moved over to oldschool based on a lot of 07 player reactions, as now the game world will fully match rs3's eoc combat system.

If you have never played runescape you might not understand the difference, but for those who have, you will understand the significance of this update.

I'll be checking it out, if it will make me play rs3 again is a mystery though as I get bored on it

Every mmo has a subscription, besides you can play it free and unlike other mmos it isn't a demo with limited levelling. In fact it's recommended you play free till you are a decent level so then when you are a member you don't need to spent time levelling to do all the extra stuff members can do

anyways good to see rs improving, rs3 was hated a lot.

Damn, haven't played of RS in ages. This seems really nice, but i'm a lot more excited for Albion Online.

Since my acc is 4,068 days old I get to test the newest version of the client next week (but I'm still going to camp Priff 24/7 since I want 35M agility XP by end of month)

Any places in particular you guys want to see? I am excited to do some raids with it :D

Jagex got sold to some Chinese company for $300m today

It's not a finalized deal, just everyone jumping the gun.

"Jagex is in early stage discussions with the firm in question, but we must stress that they may – or may not – materialise into anything."

The company at hand is an iron mining company and has no knowledge or experience in the gaming indsutry let alone investing (this company is losing profits and is the reason they are interested in investing here).

Jagex is still Jagex and this company is not going to be taking over Runescape, any money they buy into it will just be an investement not to take control over the game.

They're actually wanting to buy Jagex itself. I feel like they'll introduce more microtransactions but other than that not a lot should change since people would quit and they'd lose their money.

What the majority of players expect to happen:

RS3 is already riddled with micro transactions, I mean you can buy levels through TH. If people didn't quit after they brought the other MTX stuff I doubt they after more.
