Guild Search Idea
Please bear with me though this long post that hardly anyone will read. I'll try to explain my idea as clearly as possible.
As we all know graal is a very social game, and guilds are a very big reason for that. However, I do not think the guild search function is being utilized as well as it could be. As of right now you can only search for guilds by looking up their name. But what if you don't know the name of any guilds, and you're just looking for a group of people to hang out with? Well search no further (pun intended). This idea is based on the search system in Habbo Hotel, although theirs is for player rooms instead of guilds. First we start by allowing guild owners to pick the type of guild theirs will be from a list of predetermined guild types: towering guild, sparring guild, social guild, roleplaying guild, gaming guild, etc. Guild owners could also be able to choose guild tags for their guild. I'm thinking these guild tags could be entered manually by the owner instead of picked from a list of predetermined ones. Each guild type could be unique in some way, such as social guilds allowing for more guild members, but not being able to spar/tower. I'm not saying we should limit guild abilities like this, but it's just something to think about. Now comes the guild search part. When you click the guild search button, another drop down menu will appear. In this menu you can choose to either search for the guild manually by typing, look through the list of guilds available based on their type, look at guilds recommended for you based on your current guild preferences, or look through the promoted guilds. When searching for the guild you want manually, you would be able to choose how to filter the search: guild name, guild owner, or guild tags associated with that guild. When choosing to look for a guild based on its guild type, you would select from the predetermined guild types. Looking for a towering guild? If you click on the "Towering Guild" button it'll show a list of active towering guilds for you to join. The same goes for other guild types. The list of guilds recommended for you could be determined by the guild types you like, the people in your guilds that are in other guilds, guilds with similar guild tags, etc. Guild promotions are simple. Basically you pay a fee and your guild will show up in the "Promoted Guilds" tab. Maybe the more you pay the higher on the list it gets put? I'm not entirely sure if this tab should be implemented or not, or if it would even be used. TL;DR: Revamp guild system, allow for more ways to find new guilds. Let me know your thoughts and suggestions, thanks! |

Maybe if they add an option where people can auto join a guild. Leaders can put certain requirement like this amount of hours, this many pks, this spar score, this many mvps idk.

I don't think that limiting a guild to a certain activity is a good idea

Guild1(Towering/Social) Guild2(Spar/Gaming) Guild3(RP/Towering) Etcetera. Think that would help this system function better, less limiting. 2. I don't think guilds should be limited on what they want to do, just because they are labelled as a "social guild" doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to tower. I personally think it should be just a distinction. 3. I don't know if promotions are a good idea or not |
Id be happy with the guild search as it already is, if I didnt have to try 20x before it actually works.

I like the idea of the additions of "tags" to show the type of guild and then being able to find guilds by searching for these key words.
For example, I know there's a number of guilds that just want "adults only". So being able to tag your guild with "adult" or "18+" and find a list of these guilds by searching these words (using a tag search, rather than a guild name search) would be very helpful both for people to advertise their guilds and for people looking for certain types of guilds. Essentially a hashtag system. I like the idea. I would hope we could use multiple tags to identify our guilds (but obviously there would be a limit). I don't think the tags should in any way affect how a guild functions though. They should just be purely for categorizing purposes and for another way to search for guilds. And I don't know about pre-determined categories or this "guild promotion" concept. |

Great idea brick, For everyone including new players looking for a guild to be with if they're not sure what to do. Also they're should also be "family guilds" :-)
