Spar Tournament Rotation

So, we currently have 3 month interval GSTs, but no 1v1 or 2v2 staff hosted tournaments.

(I would like to know what the staff 3 month hibernation is about.)

Is there a way to have automated tournaments in the interval months between GSTs, or are more staff needed to run these tournaments?

To avoid cheating, a staff is currently required to host tournaments.

There's no systems in place for 'automated' tournaments and the systems in place currently were only developed specifically for the GST.

The GST also switched from a monthly format to seasonal because it takes 14 (half being newbies to hosting it) or so people to host and complete it within 3 hours.

Singles would take like 2-4 people tops, if that. If it takes 14 people to host GST maybe you need some new people to host it...ideally i would think 2-3 admins could do each side or something under 3 hours pretty easily... just my two cents, it can't be that hard.

If only all of the staff cared about keeping tournaments fair.

I'm sure you could get volunteers. I tried, but Rufus cblocked me.

Monthly GST with 32 merged teams. #GetYourSuperTeamOn 3-4 hosts

I'd volunteer to host, but Graal wants proper admins... We would act as admins that specifically target areas in which a few reliable people could easy sort out

It takes 14 people because we double up on hosts/staff for each room (6 x 2) and me and Xor (2) handle the initial organization and moderate the hosts along with watching and trying to settle any disputes that occur during the tournament.

However I do agree we would likely get less complaints about hosting if we picked people who had a better understanding of guild sparring because as of right now half the time we're dealing with half of those hosts being completely new to hosting the tournament. The issue with bringing people in who may have that knowledge is the fact the tools provided to host the GST are only designed to work for people with the PC client.

Ideally I'd like to improve the guild sparring script so it's not as dependent on human moderation.

if it's like this, it's a doable job.
i can record match on my laptop and host it on pc.

of course. they don't want randoms to have powers.

The amount of trouble during gst with not all members of a team being warped in or people being warped out randomly during matches changes from gst to gst. We had a few good ones in a row, this most recent one had more trouble than we've had in a while.

While I know a lot of people would be willing to volunteer, myself included, it often doesn't seem like the volunteers are the issue overall. To me most of the problems for the volunteers seem to come from the script/server messing up(players not being warped in, PC players crashing, ect).

Human moderation will always have to be a thing anyway, have to watch for people hacking, and for excessive lag.
