At night

Was talking about this with friends yesterday and I seriously thought everyone had this, since I can't find anything about it on google I'm just gonna ask here, I guess.

It's kinda stupid and embarassing but I don't wanna bother people about it irl and neither could I ask my doc or teacher.

When it's night or dark in a room or outside, it doesn't even matter if I'm alone or with people; I see black or gray forms in the corner of my eye. Sometimes its not even in the corner of my eye, it could be anywhere. I honestly thought everyone had something like this so I didn't ever really ask anyone.
The rather darker forms are there for mostly just a second or two and go away when I look. Sometimes it's not dark but instead a bit brighter.
It sometimes takes me about 2 hours to finally fall asleep because it just bothers me too much, another reason why I can't sleep with light, an open door or without being completely covered in a blanket.

Yesterday, I swear to god, I kept on seeing things behind the fence (I saw a face, something behind the tree and behind the corner of the wall in at least 20 minutes) but no one believed me. People made fun of me and told me to calm down when I told them that stuff like that happened to me all the time so it started worrying me. I don't really believe in ghosts or anything like that but I'm kinda LOWKEY worried about my sanity and/or my eyes.
So just making this thread to be 100% sure that everyone (or at least some) have this, really just curious if this happens to anyone else.

O before I forget this again, another question (google told me I had tinnitus and thats kinda hard to believe):

I don't know if it's because of me constantly listening to music but does anyone else sometimes have this really high pitch noise (sometimes beeping) in one of their ears when it's really quiet? Sometimes it's both, makes it really hard to sleep. It often goes away when I turn my head into a certain direction (its kinda random).
It often occurs when my phone or charger is nearby.

Try to keep things clean, These are mostly called shadow people I have a lot of them here since my Neighbors are very messy and I could see them at the corner of my eyes, I also see these at the backyard of their houses, it might be just them.
But I seriously think they wont do harm, I've been seeing them for months, and after all those times I just like to keep my room clean and stuff organized.

Shadow People are mostly attracted to messy places, and the face you see in the backyard is a human being call 911.

I had the high-pitched ringing in my ears every once in awhile as a kid, but I turned out fine.... Right?

You have a good health care system in place. Use it.

People go to the doc if they have serious medical issues and not because they see things at night or hear high pitch noises, I'll sound insane

And people who brush off symptoms that they deem insignificant tend to have a lower life expectancy.

If something seems off or is worrying you about your body, why take an unnecessary risk. You are paying into a service that you refuse to use.

I don't think it's anything to be worried about. When I was younger, I experienced similar shapes in the corner of my retina when it was dark, and I grew out of it. It's probably your eyes trying to heuristically make sense of objects that don't exist

I think of you

This is true, too.

No reason to be worried. So essentially your retina is composed of two different types of photoreceptors (these capture light), they are called rods and cones.

Cones are the type of photoreceptors that capture colored light (found in the fovea). These are strongest in your direct line of site because there are more in these areas. (with that said there are less in the corners of your vision)

Rods are the photoreceptors that display most of what is in the corners of you field of view. These deal less with the colors of light and more with capturing motion and movement through any lighting. (If you believe in evolution it is believed this helped us keep out for predators and danger.)

So anyways, when it is dark it is easier to see if you look out of your peripheral vision. This is because your Rods are more receptive of light even if it is weak. Where as the Cones in your eyes cant pick up light and movement as well. So the things you are seeing moving are actually there, but its just the light bouncing off of things that your rods are picking up. When you look at it your cones can't see the light as well hence why the forms "disappear".

Turn off the lights and try experimenting with this sometime. Its actually very fascinating and cool to see in effect. And you have learned something new!

As for sounds if the ringing is constant day and night you might have Tinnitus, which is constant ear ringing. Check with a doctor though, I am not certified to diagnose you.

Same, used to happen to me.
But I did have hallucinations all the time so
Maybe ask your mom to take you to a psychiatrist
They can perscribe you some anti-pyschosis meds.
Worked like a charm for me.

Asaiki 05-21-2016 11:29 PM

Still might want to call the police with the face in the backyard though.

Crono 05-21-2016 11:30 PM
