If you ignore someone, render them invisible to you?

I was chilling in the spar arena (like all pros do) and saw paddie harassing some guy as she usually does. The guy she was harassing said he ignored her weeks ago and she still stalks him etc.

Then it hit me like a pile of Lagger's posts beating against our ignorelists: what if ignoring someone really did make them go away? There would have to be exceptions for players in spar rings and stuff but why not just...make the person you ignore literally disappear from your screen?

doit.

I would say the opposite. Make you disappear from their screen - It's one thing to have them become invisible, but if they can still see you, they would be able to stand around and target you verbally in front of other community members.

The problem, of course, is in spar/tower scenarios where you kind of need to see who's where in order to accomplish your task.

I will legit pay the dev who implements this $100 USD if they make this possible because it's needed.

For that to work i think when you ignore someone or get ignored by someone both you and the person who you ignored or got ignored by should be invisible to each other, otherwise it could still be used as a way to harass others.

What if people use thee invisible mode to selective spar? They could hide themselves from tough opponents, sadly.

I've always wanted this, but as long as only I can't see the person I blocked. They should still be able to see me, at least in BA, unless they have me blocked too. Everywhere else = invisible to each other.

Well... I can already see how this could be turned into a poor situation.
Ex.) Kid who doesn't like me runs up and starts calling me profanities over the overworld chat. Before I can click on his profile in order to report him, he quickly ignores me. (If the "ignore" button is similar to the "block" button).
I understand that you could probably look up his name on the player list, but when someone has a name like "jonthekiller6969" it would be pretty hard to look up if you got immediately ignored and was able to see part of his name before he went invisible.

Then you block him and you vanish from his screen too, no? Win/win ?

Crono 07-11-2016 07:17 PM

this idea isnt happening but you guys misunderstand...the person you ignore doesnt show on your screen. not the other way around.

Nah. I mean, it would be helpful to avoid petty fights. But it could be easily abused by people looking to say something completely grotesque and hurtful, so that they could not be reported.
