Seeing as though the recent reductions in pricing (loot, now, but insects as well) has made it more financially viable, I will be hosting a PK/farming guild to steal bombs from players who have just finished their pyrat quest. Anyone feel free to come participate - there's more money to be made hunting unsuspecting players than looting or bug catching.

can you please explain it more as to how players would make more money?

i re-read and now understand that you pk them once they have full inventories of bombs and use that to farm.

It's 100% going on. I especially like the ambush spots in york town just north of the turn-in point for the pyrat quest. Made more cash in 1 day of half-assed piracy than in a week of looting under the 'new system' prices.
