Loot Limit really?

I noticed when i got loot, it said 144/200, so when i reach 200 loot ill no longer be able to collect anymore loot until i clear out the space? If thats the case that i have a loot cap then this is out of the question to have or even need. What this gotta do with "balancing"? just because players wish to sell loot at higher amounts ?

If this isn't the case that the loot cap is 200 then i am sorry for my misunderstanding

Noxious 10-02-2016 01:14 AM

You have the correct understanding. You cannot carry more than 200 loot at a time.

However, I want to believe this is just a temporary change in order to encourage players to sell their loot so that Dusty can gather more information about balancing the loot system and economy. If players refuse to sell loot or just hoard it, it would take longer for him to figure out the effects of the price changes. This is just speculation though, no official explanation for this change has been given yet.

Eh, I know I'm a hypocrite wasting money on gralats, but It seems unnecessary either way since the prices were already reduced.

TBH I hope Noxious is right because I dont see what the disadvantage is for having unlimited inventory for loot?

If it's here to stay I suspect we'll see similar limiters for bugs and maybe food...

Liz 10-02-2016 03:55 AM

Most likely temporary. Loot system will probably continue to adjust with prices, spawn rates etc. This is so people don't hoard enormous amounts of loot and sell it only to see the price go back up again later on and complain or vice versa. Since there's a limit of 200, everyone will essentially be in the same boat for price changes.
(This is just speculation).

i can see why people can be upset about the price reduction, but idk why ppl are upset about the loot limitation. it doesn't really change anything, does it? it's not like u get 200 loots in 30 minutes?

and if u go back to the other thread, i think dusty wrote handful of paragraphs explaining why he had to make that decision.

Ryan 10-02-2016 04:43 AM

Theres only no loot limit if you started graal in 2011 or earlier

Well this can't be right considering everyone started during Dec 2009/early 2010?

Well im just saying i like selling to the NPC's at high amounts, and also i could see why some people would be upset because some like save till 5000 or 1000 and sell it all to elster to gain a huge amount of money. But eh i guess it's ok. I don't really save up past 200

Lol i just noticed i have 592 loot. Does anyone know all of the locations to sell (besides next to sardon's)? Or can anyone at least confirm whether the guy next to sardons buys your loot for a lower price than the other npcs?

The other npcs to sell to, Read this http://graalclassicquests.weebly.com/loot-diving.html

However the prices have been cut in half so the prices on that site may be invalid, but selling to the individual NPCs first then selling the junk(things the others dont buy) to elster after still makes more money than selling it all to elster

So what happens if you hit 200? and if you already had over 200 when the limit was added? Do spawns just stop appearing or what.

Not a fan, since i tend to hoard everything until christmas; but its not a big deal.

spawns appear but you get a message saying you don't have room if its an inventory item.

same here, I had goals at the start of the year for how many loots I wanted by Christmas but those are out the window now.

Should the limit stick around it will discourage me(and perhaps others) from going around the map to NPC's instead of just selling in bulk to Elster. The difference between how much you earn between selling to the NPC's and Elster will be low enough that it wouldn't be worth it to me(besides selling to the Owl's Nest, but those are so uncommon that you may only get a few per 200).

All in all I hope that it's just a method of forcing everyone to sell their loots to examine how it effects overall loot earnings. Even if it's a permanent change it won't change too much, just when and where I sell my loots.

Aftermath 10-04-2016 12:17 AM

here i am because i suck and only get like 30 loots an hour

Aguzo 10-15-2016 04:36 AM

Can this be raised? The prices were dropped already. It's annoying to be forced to sell early. Maybe limit it to 1k, 5k, or 10k? 200 loot is too low, and slows people down, but maybe that was the point of it, on top of the reduced prices.
