StarWars Battlefront 2 BETA

Open access BETA is now live.

First impressions from someone who never played the first battlefront is that it's pretty fun. If they have lots of customisation/ things to work towards to give the Multiplayer a life span then I think this will be a pretty successful game.

Aside from the graphics being amazing, the gameplay was pretty fun aswell. Each of the classes feel unique and different to each other, and have pretty interesting abilities.
The Heros seem pretty strong, i've only gotten to try Darth Maul but I went on a pretty high killstreak and lasted till the game ended the first time I used him. I think they can be taken down easily though if multiple people are attacking, but one on one you'll pretty much always win.

Jetpack trooper seems to be the strongest class in the game at the moment, it's just really good for high killstreaks. Only time i've really died as a jetpack trooper is against another jetpack trooper.

As for vehicles i'd still have preferred them to be spawned into the game empty like in the battlefields/ original battlefront. I haven't really used any but the gameplay is apparently better than it was in the first battlefront.

The current various rarity items locked to their supplydrop system don't seem to be too ground breaking/ p2w. Yea the higher rarity items give you an advantage but the amounts generally just 10-15% faster cool downs of certain abilities you can unlock the standard versions of yourself fairly easily

Call me a nostalgia bummer guy all you want, but i wont enjoy the new one(s) because the older battlefront games were simply much better.

Its pretty naive i know but whenever i played the new ones they just bored me so much whereas i'd happily play the old ones all day long if i had to. The newer ones just seem so different and don't have the same moments or enjoyment to me.

Fair enough! I never played the original ones or even Battlefront 1 but have been really enjoying this beta that I'll likely pick it up on release. I don't even pay for games at full price anymore but for this I'll make an exception

This concerns me..I have no issue with loot crates giving cosmetics only but when they give bonuses like this, the game has a P2W factor and it's already $60. You shouldn't have to have game changing cards in a f***ing loot crate system. It should be earned by progression. Not to mention you seem to earn the same amount of credits whatever you're doing good or bad and scrap comes in small bits from the loot crates and that's only if they are dropped due to RNGness. I hope EA fixes this but knowing their history it will probably be the same in the launch as it was in the beta. This microtransaction s**t is just getting worse by the minute and it's pathetic really.

P2W lootboxes?

Jesus, EA. You just couldn't help but try to milk more than the 60 dollar base price out of the game.

Of course not. EA is honestly worse than Activstion but that's not saying much. Both companies are scummy pieces of ****. Honestly pisses me off so much with this microtransaction BS. Leave this **** to the F2P mobile games that plague them. Why do I have to pay extra in my $60 game? God, this dark age of gaming ain't getting any better. We already see this loot crate BS in single player games now such as Shadow of War.

I actually really enjoyed the BETA from what I played. They did a lot of things right in terms of classes and the point system, but yeah the loot crate part of it sucks. It honestly doesn't bother me as much as it does other people because as long as the game is fun I don't really care. It's not too regularly Star Wars games are released nowadays so I just want to enjoy this one best I can.

The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different heroes.
As for cost, we selected initial values based upon data from the Open Beta and other adjustments made to milestone rewards before launch. Among other things, we're looking at average per-player credit earn rates on a daily basis, and we'll be making constant adjustments to ensure that players have challenges that are compelling, rewarding, and of course attainable via gameplay.
We appreciate the candid feedback, and the passion the community has put forth around the current topics here on Reddit, our forums and across numerous social media outlets.
Our team will continue to make changes and monitor community feedback and update everyone as soon and as often as we can.
Lol.

Yea look, I actually found the BETA pretty fun and was looking forward to this game coming out but after all the lootbox **** has gone down, once again I will not be buying Battlefront.

The lootboxes themselves don't really effect me anyway, I don't really care that much about the Heroes, and the customisation options are pretty bad anyway. I'm a good player so the P2W star cards won't really limit me that much. That being said there is no way i'm going to support this trend as it's only going to get worse, even if my $100 doesn't seem like it'll make any difference.

Sounds pretty extreme but the level of success SWBF2 receives will determine how lootbox mechanics are implemented in games in the next 2 years, which would be a paid game using a F2P model.

Just sucks that these days any unlocks/ customisation is locked behind micro-transaction, just takes away so much fulfilment games used to give. If an item was hard to unlock, I'd be willing to grind for it knowing I will eventually get it, and feel some what accomplished when I finally do. With lootboxes the only outcome I get is feeling pissed off when I finally get the item I wanted, as it took me that long to get it knowing other people got it straight away just from being lucky/ spending money. I could buy one game and be satisfied with it for a year- now i'm bored of it after a few weeks because there is a paywall behind 3/4 of the content.

**** EA, and soz but DICE too. Battlefields probably my most played game series but I mean whilst the lootboxes weren't DICES idea, they could have at least added more customisation/ weapon unlocks to compensate that. 12 guns in the entire game? complete joke. Pretty sure BF4 had more than 12 guns just in the pistol category. BF4 is probably the only game that did lootboxes right.

Looks like i'm stuck playing COD which I don't really even like and only continue to play because I don't have anything else new to play
