Networking help

So I have this problem that whenever my brother tries uploading a video to youtube, I get insane lag with pings of like 1500-2000ms up from normally 80. Is there a way I can make it so his uploading doesn't use all our bandwidth, like limit it at 70% or something?

I'm not really a tech expert, but what you could try is lowering the file size by using a different format. I know it has nothin' to do with your connection, but it might help. Try Google. Who is your ISP?(Internet Service Provider. Like BT or ****** or something)

Not really. Uploading tends to bottleneck connections. The most you can do is look into your router settings and seeing if you can set upload limits or something of the sort. Google your router brand and something like 'upload limits.'

Lowering the filesize would reduce the time it takes to be uploaded therefore shortening the amount of time I experience the lag, but it wont effect the severity of it.

It all depends on the router you have
