Graal Boss?

Hey all, I posted another idea I had a few days ago, and judging by the replies I decided to think up some new ideas and this is what I came up with, if you havent seen my otherbsuggestion, here is a link:http://www.graalians.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8892

So yeah, I see threads about more quests and thought what kind of quests The development team could bring into Graal, and came up with this, it sounds crazy, but just a loose suggestion. xD

If you check the map, you see the Pyrats have a boat near their bay, I thought what if you could swim over to their ship and find a quest where a scared Pyrat tells you that their boat has angered a boss - like baddie (I dont know... Sea Trolls? xD) and he asks you to get rid of it.

So you go downstairs into the cellar of their ship (I cant remember what the bottom half of the ship is called...Poop Deck?) and find this baddie all angry and killable. Hes not like other baddies however, he is much stronger 5 - 6 hp and has a range of attacks, for example, throwing waves from the sea at you, which you have to dodge by running side to side, as well as perhaps throwing egg- like bombs, or even where he chases you with bomb explosions. (All suggestions) as well as this however, he will have phases where he simply tries to attack you, like any other baddie. Because he is bigger however, he will be slower and have slower reactions then other baddies so you have to use your sparring skills rather then stand there and spam your sword while taking hits from him. Perhaps if he does hit you, he gives you a huge knockback, stuns you, or does more then 0.5 damage.

So yeah, after the baddie boss has either died or returned to the sea to recover, where he will return in 24 hours, you speak to the Pyrat and he rewards with you a small cut off his treasure. (1000 Gralats)

I feel an idea like this could work, but definitely would take a while to develop, I also have tons of ideas about this but didnt want to bore you guys with such a long post. xD

I had fun writing this also, may take up creative writing :P anyway please post your criticism/feedback/etc. down below, Ill try and reply. :)

It's a decently thought out idea for an area that has had no thought put into it what-so-ever. We recently discussed having minor baddy bosses in areas, so yeah, maybe!

Great! Its nice to see the first reply being a positive one from our developers, definitely shows that im on to something, so thanks!

I like this idea, but I think that they would have to be minor bosses or once you've completed it you can't do it again for like a week (since the prize should be above 1k probably like 5k or something). Minor bosses that have a slow spawn rate, 3 per hour and drop 100 or w/e or just one big boss that once you defeat gives a larger reward.

And if you're thinking about writing I can interest you in an oppourtunity to help write for a series I'm also working on. Give me a message on here if you're interested.

I do like boss battles. However, in order to make this challenging if you die against this boss you should be forced to spawn outside the ship and start from him all over again. It would be boring if you could just keep dieing and killing him with him keeping the inflicted health damage. It would also be nice if the pyrat said "You defeated the "Boss Name"! There's three small chests located behind the wall downstairs. Pick one of them and keep whatever is in it. Don't tell the captain!" The chests would have the values of 500, 1,000, and 1,500 gralats. It would be in a random order, but whichever chest you picked you would receive that amount.

I thought there was no need really to say that if you die, you have to start over again, because don't you do that with all bosses in all games? :P

As for the random gralats, that definitely makes the whole concept a lot better. In fact, perhaps have more chests like 5 and include a hat in one of them? :)

Thanks for the feedback. I thought that this boss could be a daily quest much like the other one, so it could fit into the 1000 gralats reward category. (Or Tylers idea of a reward, which sounds much better.) As for the spawn thing, perhaps there could be a room before the boss that has these minor baddies that rarely spawn and if you kill them, they could drop a few reds or even a gold gralat.

Nope. In the quest at Deadwood with the mistress you have to fight 3 guards and if you die you don't spawn out of the area. You just continue within the same room and they have the inflicted health. That's why I suggested it so it doesn't become as easy as that.

There's a quest in deadwood!? I need to do that lmao. Thanks.

Yeah, you grab onto this skull pillar located along the East part of Deadwood and complete it. In return you receive a hat for each time you do it. I believe there are a total of 3 hats. You may get some more feeling or ideas for your current proposed one.

I like the idea of it, just not it being a daily quest. It isn't really a boss then, just a daily quest.

I just made it look like a daily quest so that the development team have some ideas of future quests they can add into iClassic, and that it fits into the daily reward suggested by me or Tyler.

Is everyone having good ideas today? It looks like it.
I like the idea, as it provides something new to do to a rather uninteresting area. If I may add to the idea, perhaps each area of Graal (excluding Graal City) can have its own boss baddy. For example, maybe Swamptown can have a giant lizard thing, or a giant blob of doom to go with the smaller blob things in it. These bosses would implement Tyler's reward method, as well as the standard "start over if you die" mechanic used in most games. Just an idea.
Getting back to the idea of bosses itself, the boss should preferably be difficult enough to provide a nice challenge and require a certain level of skill, but not too hard as to be near unkillable for even skilled players. That's all I have to say. ^-^

I like your input to the idea, especially the skill part.

However, if bosses were in each part of Graal City, chances are hat prices would go back up due to the amount of gralats you would receive daily, (1 in Snowtown, 1 Pyrat, 1 Swamptown :p) you could be earning 4.5k max plus the extra 1k from doing the Pyrat Quest. Id love too see baddie bosses in each area, or rare spawns at least, but I believe there would be more negative outcomes rather then positive.

Asfor the skill level, were on the same page. I would love too see a boss that puts your sparring skills, your reaction skills, agility skills etc. Its not a boss if all your doing is standing in one place spamming your sword. :P Also, I want a challenge as well with it, for example, when you die your warped outside the room.

I'm bumping this idea, because it's a good idea and it would be really interesting to see. Go ahead, burn me at the stake for bumping.
