Bug improvement ideas
So we all have assumed since bugs are a big hit and big gameplay that they will add on in the future (EXA: more bugs, variety).
But here a few ideas I have thought of that would enhance the experience IMO. 1: some bugs live near certain things. I saw an idea on another thread about flies living near horse stalls. Of course, if they were a reasonable means of making money then horse stalls would be packed. But they dont need to be super profitable. It's not like the witch is going to pay gold gralats to get her hands on flies. But just the idea of being able to find them at horse stalls is kinda cool. Mabye they could be, instead of a good profit, part of a quest for some frog. (collect the frog 100 flies, he gives you a hat. Or a daily quest, like he will give you 500-1000 for 100 flies everyday.) I also thought of another type of bug living near certain things. Say graal introduces honey bees or wasps. They spawn near nests. Or get this idea. Nests spawn on trees everywhere pretty rarely. Bees very slowly spawn from this nest. If you destroy the nest with attacks, it despawns, and many (4-5) bees come out of the nest and are catchable. 2: A way to attract certain bugs. I definetly like this idea. Somehow, you can collect/buy honey jars that can be used to hopefully attract bees. The rest of the mechanics is up to the developer. I also think it would be cool to have another use for honey, and let bee-attracting be its other use. Mabye when you use honey in the inventory it drops it like a bomb. If you attack it, it spills honey that bees come to. If you glove it, then your character goes through a gani and consumes the honey, adding to health. As for how you obtain honey, you could glove a bee nest when it is full of honey and you earn a jar. But you have to wait a while for the nest to recharge with honey. Or you could see growing honey suckles and pick them. And of course, you should just be able to buy it too. Other attractions for other bugs could include, lanterns that mildy attract the deadwood lightning bugs. Flies like to follow/attach to a still horse. 3: Things that detract bugs. To add to the skill of bug catching, there should be certain do's and do NOT's. Say, all bugs in general should go away from noise. So the flute, whistle, bombs, sword slashing, horse riding, ect in close proximity to a bug should cause it to move in the opposite dirrection.Certain morphs should also scare bugs, like the bat morph since bats EAT BUGS. 4: More things to do with bugs. Of course the most obvious and favorited option would be for them to be used in trade of some sort, but that wont happen. However, they should be used to make certain potions or such, since thats what the witch does. Potions could like then be used to heal, give immunity to like fire, and other potiony things. Or/also they could be used in quests. Think about certain special furniture you could buy, but only at a special shop that uses bugs as currency. You could buy furniture/hat/morphs/items that show off your particular skill at catching bugs. And some items in the store that show insane amounts of bugs needed to buy them, so people have a motive to stock up on large sums of bugs. (A ladybug trophy for 1000 ladybugs that you can hold up and show off to friends, a regular item would be like a butterfly bed for 100 butterflies. 5: More bugs. Of course this is coming in the future, but the right type of bugs makes all the difference. I think scorpians sound cool, and they could like live in caves. Also spiders. Locust's could live in swamp. Hermit Crabs could be found along waterside. Worms could be found, through digging. On occasion, you could dig and pop up a worm, which them could be caught. It would be cool then if you could use the worms for fishing.. of course that hasnt been developed, yet.. If thats not going to be developed it could be used for like a daily quest for a fisherman who needs some bait. Feedback please and rufus read this ^.^ |
Nice:3 thanks for taking my fly thing further.

Kendema pretty much said a bunch of good ideas. I just want to add the idea of hide and seek bugs. Like someone would broadcast "there's been a _____ spotted around the ____ area. Find it and it will give you a hat."

This also made me think about how events can incorperate bugs. Bug catching events. You enter the door to the event and the room consists of a big field. Every player who goes to the next round needs to catch a bug. However the limited amount of bugs to players makes it so every round, only half the players catch bugs and continue on until 1 is left standing. Also people could catch more than one bug to make it so more people are eliminated. |

Can you format your posts a little better in the future?

Sorry im native Dutch ha , i am pretty fluent english but i have some grammar issues

I think more bugs in general wouldn't hurt. As it is there's certain hotspots where people are just there to boost their kills whilst people attempt to catch bugs. It wouldn't be so bad if bugs were placed in no pk zones whilst in abundance.

Great ideas, Ken.
