League of Legends is in the same genre as DotA, but has many key differences. The they took out some DotA features such as denying and gave the ability to teleport to shop whenever you want to make the game more easier to follow and understand for newcomers. It maybe more simple than DotA, but that is exactly what they were going for, and simplicity works.

I am not sure about your fps problem, as I get constant 30 fps on my 4 year old laptop with an integrated graphics card. I get 60 fps+ with my Quad core PC with a medicore graphics card. Their PvP.net client might be a resource hog, but not to the extent where it should decrease game performance. I suggest maybe playing with lower graphic settings?

I have no idea where you came across the "no support" and "pay to win" statements. Riot cares A LOT for their players. They have admins that regularly post on their official forums, and their support usually does exactly what you want them to do. I've seen them refund skins or champions because "I just didn't like them". They have had multiple server problems in the past, and have even given their equivalent of cash to their player base for compensation.

Riot has been pretty strict on not selling power to players. The advantage a paying player has over a paying player is fully cosmetic. Sure there are IP and exp boots, but neither are required to play at a competitive level, unlike many other free games.

Lastly, the tribunal is NOT governed by the players. Every potential ban that the tribunal spits out is carefully reviewed by a Riot employee. If you don't deserve the ban, then you won't get it. Every single complaint of an unfair ban that was posted on the official forums was justified as bannable by a admin. If you regularly break their rules and create a unwanted gaming environment, then you will be reported and banned. If you play fair you don't have to worry about anything.
