I think you are forgetting Retina display? If you have a new iPod this should be implemented, if you still have a 5 year old 2g ipod, you got it coming.

4S could handle it, iPod 4 is weaker than the iPhone 4. Until a new iPod comes out, you should stick with the phone if any, as GraalOnline Era is hard to handle even on an iPad 1 at times, same for an iPhone 4, never mind iPod.
Retina display does not help really for improving #fps for this game. Do not forget the iPod 4 hardware is about two years old this year.
