The fundamentals of basing starts with spar skill. The frequency in which you dodge and effectively hit defenders is essential. Now, I think the m4 is the best gun for invading. However it lacks power in situations where spamming is useful. Spamming doors is very effective in defense, but can still be overpowered by the right player.

Anyway, this is a hard subject because every base is different.
