I was referring to people opening up a level in the default level editor after making it in gonstruct and losing all there layer data. However that's more a lack of knowledge rather then stupidity... Your points are all valid so i'll just agree with you although I have one last point... We are managing to get by with it at the moment therefore its a want not a need.

That's not stupidity, it's being unaware. Ya, there are methods you can try to go about to avoid it but you're putting a lot of data into the hands of other staff. Important data.
It is a need. We're getting by, sure... like people stranded get by by drinking their own piss. What the **** else are we getting in the last 10 years? Nothing. To act like people asking for a new level editor is acting spoiled is stupid.
