Thinking beyond the bare minimum will go a long way in development. In this case many people approach events as some minor adjustment to Graal itself, when it'd probably be better to approach it as its own game. In this case I approached development of my CTF in the same way many online shooters work, where everything is made from the ground up to cater to the game of CTF, rather then just being Graal with a flag script thrown in.
