I agree with having pets in your guild house but walking around graal with a pet would lag a lot of the 3rd gen and below devices.

It wouldn't lag. Lag is mostly dependent on the number of sprites on screen and their sizes in pixels, and horses/ganis all contribute, just like pets would. They could always make an option to hide pets anyways  |
It would since they would be in the players attributes as a gani script.
